국문 초록

디지털 시대에 필요한 핵심역량으로 컴퓨팅 사고력(CT)의 중요성이 부각되면서 여러 교과목에서 CT 함양을 위한 교수·학습이 시행되고 있다. CT 기반 교수·학습에 관련된 연구들은 다양한 측면에서 진행되고 있지만 CT를 함양하기 위해 새로운 수업을 시도하는 주체인 교사와 학교 요인에 대한 연구는 미진한 편이다. 본 연구는 국제컴퓨터·정보소양(ICILS) 2018 을 활용하여 교사와 학교 특성을 탐색하고자 했다. 이를 위해 수업 변화를 교육 혁신의 핵심으로 보고 다양한 교육 요인을통합시킨 교사중심의 체계적 변혁(TCSR) 모형을 바탕으로 분석모형을 설계했다. 분석 결과 수업에서 ICT 활용을 위한 교사간 협력, 구조적 학습, 긍정적 인식, 자아효능감 등 선행연구에서 밝혀진 교사 요인 외에도 추가적으로 동료 교사 간 전문적학습, 부정적 인식, ICT 이용가능성에 대한 교사 인식이 CT 기반 교수·학습을 강조하는 교사의 예측 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 담당 교사별 분석 결과는 전체 교사 대상 결과와는 다소 다른 양상을 보여 CT 기반 교수·학습에 기여할 수 있는 요인들이 교과별로 다를 수 있음을 시사했다. 본 연구의 결과는 교사 지원책 모색에 있어 교사 학습공동체, 사고능력으로서 CT의 개념에 대한 이해, 교사가 평가하는 ICT 지원, 그리고 과목 특성의 중요성을 시사하고 있다. 마지막으로 연구 결과 해석의 한계를 밝히고, 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

As computational thinking (CT) is recognized as a core competency for the digital era, teachers have attempted to cultivate students’ CT by teaching its core principles in various subject areas. While research on teaching CT-related skills has been conducted in various aspects, there is still a knowledge gap about teacher characteristics and school contextual factors that predict teachers’ emphasis on CT skills in the classroom. This study sought to explore the characteristics of teachers and schools using ICILS 2018. It used the Teacher-Centered Systemic Reform model as the theoretical framework, which assumes that altering classroom practices is the core of school reform efforts and is affected by the interplay of teacher and school factors. This study found that teachers’ reciprocal learning, negative view on ICT use, and perception about ICT availability have positive associations with the emphasis on teaching CT skills, in addition to teacher collaboration, structured professional development, positive view, and ICT self-efficacy revealed in the prior studies. Also, the associations of those factors with the emphasis on teaching CT skills differed by teachers’ subject areas. The findings suggest that the teacher learning community, teachers’ understanding of CT as analytical thinking, teachers' perception of ICT support, and the unique property of each subject area should be considered in helping teachers integrate CT skills in the classroom. Lastly, the limitations of this study were discussed and future research directions were presented.
