4~5세기 삼연·고구려 갑주의 구조와 기술계통

국문 초록

삼연과 고구려의 갑주 자료는 동북아시아 갑주 연구에 있어 매우 중요한 위치를 점하고 있다. 중국 東漢 이후시기의 실물 갑주 자료 공백을 메워주는 한편, 한반도 갑주문화의 성립에 지대한 영향을 미친 것으로도 평가되고있다. 그러나 중요성에 비하여 이들만을 대상으로 한 연구는 다소 미진하였다. 특히 소찰 분류에 따른 각 소찰의사용위치가 제대로 비정되지 않는 등 자료에 대한 평가가 엄밀히 이루어지지 않았다. 본고에서는 먼저 소찰을 분류한 뒤 분류기준에 따라 사용위치를 추정하였다. 이를 토대로 갑주를 검토한 결과, 전연에서는 늦어도 4세기 3/4분기에 본인들만의 고유한 제작기술을 바탕으로 중원지역의 기술을 적극 수용하여독자적인 갑주를 제작하였음을 알 수 있었다. 고구려의 경우 4세기 3/4분기까지는 전연의 갑주 제작기술에 큰 영향을 받았으나 4세기 3/4분기~4/4분기에 전연의 갑주 제작기술을 바탕으로 독자적인 기술계통을 창안해 내었다. 5세기 이전에 이미 전연과 고구려에서는 독자적인 갑주 제작 기술계통이 존재하고 있었으며 4세기 3/4분기~4/4분기에 양국의 제작기술 상 양극화가 심화되었던 것으로 보인다. 고구려 갑주의 출토상태를 알 수 없는 등의 문제로 고구려 고분벽화를 참고하여 전연의 갑주 구성과 비교를 시도해보았다. 이를 통하여 갑주 구성에 따라 계층적 차이가 있었을 가능성을 확인하였다. 또 경갑과 대퇴갑의 경우중장기병을 위하여 개발된 갑옷이며 일반 보병들은 착장하지 않은 점도 알 수 있었다. 4~5세기대 중국 동북지역의 갑주를 검토해본 결과 전연과 고구려 모두 주변지역의 제작기술을 적극 수용하는한편 독자적인 제작기술을 창출해낸 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Armours and Helmets from Samyeon and Goguryeo are very important for the study of armours and helmets in Northeast Asia. These are also evaluated to have a significant impact on the establishment of the armours and helmets culture on the Korean Peninsula, while filling the gap in real armours and helmets from the Later Han period of China. However, compared to the importance, studies targeting only them were somewhat insufficient. In particular, the evaluation of the data was not strictly conducted, such as the part of use of scales according to the scales classification was not properly determined. In this paper, first, the scales was classified, and then the part of use was estimated according to the classification scales. Based on the characteristics of the scales, it can be seen that in the 3rd quarter of the 4th century at the latest, their own armor was produced by actively accepting the technology of the Jungwon area based on their own manufacturing technology. In the case of Goguryeo, it was greatly influenced by the manufacturing technology of armours and helmets before the 3rd quarter of the 4th century, but in the 3rd quarter of the 4th century, it created its own technology system based on the manufacturing technology of armours and helmets. Prior to the 5th century, there was already an independent technology system for making armours and helmets in Jeonyeon and Goguryeo, and it seems that polarization in the manufacturing technology of the two countries intensified in the 3rd quarter of the 4th century. On the other hand, due to problems such as unknown excavation status of armours and helmets of Goguryeo, this study attempted to compare the composition of the armours and helmets of Jeonyeon by referring to Goguryeo tomb murals. Through this, it was confirmed that there was a possibility of hierarchical difference according to the composition of armours and helmets. In addition, it was found that gorget and thigh armor were developed for heavy cavalry, and ordinary infantry were not dressed. In the 4th and 5th centuries, it was found that both Jeonyeon and Goguryeo actively embraced the manufacturing technology of the surrounding areas and created their own manufacturing technology, which spread to the surrounding areas again.
