국문 초록

이 논문은 성공회 공공신학의 역사와 최근 동향을 추적하고자 한다. 성공회는 시작부터 종교적이기보다는 정치적이었다. 성공회는 국가와 함께 일하는 새로운 프로테스탄티즘이었기에 정치적 사회적 참여를 당연히 여긴다. 식민지에서의 성 공회는 그 지역 사회에 맞는 토착화된 길을 제시했다. 그 교회는 특수성보다는 보편 성을 강조하여 고교회(가톨릭주의자), 저교회(복음주의자) 그리고 광교회(현대주 의자) 모두를 포용했다. 성공회는 다른 신학적 가치관을 가진 사람들이나 단체들 과 공공선을 위해서라면 일치된 견해와 행동을 해왔다. 전 세계를 향해서는 공공선 을 위한 교회일치운동에 선두적인 교단이 되었다. 이 연구는 공공신학 분야에 있어 서 세 가지 중요한 점을 밝힌 데 의의가 있다. 첫째, 한 교회가 태동하게 된 과거 역사는 그 교회의 공공신학을 이해하는 데 도움을 준다. 둘째, 보편성을 강조하는 신학은 교회의 공공성과 공공신학을 강화시킨다. 마지막으로, 공공신학의 정치 참여가 공공선을 포기하는 데 대한 변명이 되지 않는다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to pursue the history and recent trends of Anglican public theology. The Anglican Church was political rather than religious from the beginning. Because the Anglican Church was a new Protestantism working with the government, the church members readily accepted the church’s social or political participation. The Anglican Church in the colonies presented an indigenous path for the local community. The church embraced all the high church (Catholic), low church (Evangelical) and the broad church (Modernist) by emphasizing universality rather than specificity. The Anglican Church has consistent views and actions for the public good with people and organizations of different theological values. Towards the world, it became the leading denomination in the church unity movement for public good. This study will contribute to reveal three important points in the field of public theology. First, the history of the Anglican church's birth helps to understand its present public theology. Second, theology emphasizing universality strengthens the publicity and public theology. Finally, public theology's participation in politics is no excuse for giving up public good.
