유아·놀이중심 교육과정 실행을 위한 학습공동체 참여 원장의 경험 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아·놀이중심 교육과정 실행을 위한 학습공동체에 참여한 원장의 경험을 탐색하는데 목적을 둔 질적 연구이다. 연구 참여자는 유아·놀이중심 교육과정 실행에 관심을 가지고 구성원으로 참여한 어린이집 원장 4명과 촉진자로 참여한 대학교수 1명이다. 학습공동체 운영은 연구 참여자들 간 자율적인 협의를 통해 2020년 4월부터 2021년 4월까지 13개월 동안 이루어졌다. 그 과정에서 생성한 협의 내용, 면담자료, 연구 참여자 저널, 놀이 영상 및 관련 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료는 통합한 후 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 학습공동체에 참여한 원장들은 유아·놀이중심 교육과 유아 놀이 관찰 및 기록의 본질을 내면화함으로써 유아·놀이중심 교육에 대한 자신의 신념을 재정립하였다. 둘째, 놀이를 통해 배우는 유능한 존재로 유아를 바라봄으로써 유아의 놀이를 관찰하고 필요에 따라 지원해주는 교사 역할과 교사의 자율성과 전문성을 인정하고 지원 해주는 원장 역할의 중요성을 재인식하고 이를 실천하려고 노력하였다. 셋째, 어린이집 현장에서 겪고 있는 공동의 주제를 선정하고 공유하고 실행하는 과정을 통해 학습공동체 참여 원장 간 동반 성장을 해 갔으며, 이를 어린이집 교사와 공유하고 실천하는 과정에서 어린이집 내에서 협력적인 문화를 형성해가는 양상을 보였다. 이러한 연구결과는 기관의 리더인 원장이 참여하는 학습공동체는 원장 개개인의 전문성 증진과 구성원 간 상호 협력적 문화를 조성할 뿐만 아니라 더 나아가 각 원장들이 근무하는 어린이집의 문화를 상호 협력적으로 조성하고 지원하게 됨을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aim to qualitatively analyze the experiences child care center directors participating in a learning community for the implementation of the child-centered and play-based curriculum. The participants of this study included four child care center directors who participated as members and one university professor who participated as a facilitator. The learning community of this study operated once every two weeks for 26 sessions in total from the third week of April 2020 to the third week of April 2021. For validity and reliability of the qualitative study, consultations, interviews, journals, paly videos and other related data were collected and analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows: First, the directors redefined their beliefs about child-centered and play-based education by internalizing the nature of child-centered and play-based education and the observation and documentation of child's play. Second, by recognizing children as competent beings who learned through play, the directors re-recognized the importance of teachers' role in observing the child's play and supporting it as needed, as well as directors' role in acknowledging and supporting the teacher's autonomy and professionalism, and tried to put it into practice. Third, through the process of selecting, sharing, and implementing the common themes experienced in the field, their professional development improved together in the learning community, and in the process of sharing and practicing them with the teachers, they have created a collaborative culture in the field. These results show that the learning community of directors, the leader of the institution not only improve the professionalism of directors and creates a culture of mutual cooperation among members, but also creates and supports the culture of mutual cooperation in each child care center.
