유아교사의 미디어 리터러시 역량에 대한 인식 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사들이 미디어 및 미디어 리터러시에 대하여 갖고 있는 인식을 개념도 분석 방법을 활용하여 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 유아교사 14명을 연구 참여자로 선정하고, 브레인스토밍과 진술문 구조화를 진행하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 유아교사의 미디어 리터러시에 대한 인식으로 37개의 최종 진술문이 생성되었으며, 다차원 척도분석을 통해 ‘미디어 선별 능력-미디어 활용 능력’, ‘유아 대상 미디어 활용-미디어에 대한 태도’의 2개 차원으로 나누었다. 또한 군집분석을 통해 진술문을 ‘미디어 기본 활용 능력’, ‘미디어에 대한 해석과 적응’, ‘유아를 위한 미디어 활용’, ‘새로운 미디어에 대한 태도’, ‘미디어 특성에 대한 이해’, ‘미디어에 대한 비판적 이해’, ‘미디어 활용 윤리’ 등 7개의 군집으로 분류하였다. 둘째, 37개의 진술문에 대한 연구 참여자의 중요도를 분석한 결과, 상위 10개의 진술문에서는 ‘미디어에 대한 비판적 이해 능력’이 가장 높은 중요도를 나타냈으며, 하위 10개의 진술문에서는 ‘동영상 촬영 및 편집 능력’이 가장 낮은 중요도를 나타냈다. 본 연구결과는 미디어 리터러시의 구성 요인 확인 및 유아교사의 미디어 리터러시 역량 개발 연구 등의 기초자료로 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate early childhood teachers perceptions of on media literacy using the conceptual map analysis method. For this purpose, brainstorming and statement structure was conducted by 14 early childhood teachers who were research participants. As a result of the study, first, 37 final statements were generated on early childhood teachers’ perceptions of media literacy. It was divided into two dimensions by Multidimensional scale analysis; ‘the ability to select media - the ability to use media’ and ‘media use for young children - attitude toward media’. Also, through the Cluster analysis the statements were classified into 7 clusters. There were ‘basic media literacy’, ‘interpretation and adaptation to media’, ‘media use for young children’, ‘attitude toward new media’, ‘understanding media characteristics’, and ‘critical understanding of media use and media usage ethics’. Second, as a result of analyzing the importance of study participants for 37 statements, ‘critical understanding of media’ showed the highest importance in the top 10 statements, and ‘video shooting and editing ability’ in the bottom 10 statements showed the lowest importance. The results of this study can be helpful as basic research data for identifying the constituent factors of media literacy and examining media literacy competency development of early childhood teachers.
