국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 3가지 유형의 재혼모들에게서 나타나는 재혼양육의 특성을 비교하는 것이었다. 재혼모의 유형은 재혼자녀의 잦은 가출로 인해 제대로 양육할 수 없는 단절형, 재혼가족 안에서 재혼모가 적응하지 못하고 떠나는 해체형, 재혼모-재혼자녀의 관계가 우호적으로 잘 형성된 안정형으로 구분하였고 각 유형을 대표하는 전형적 2사례를 선정하였다. 심층면접으로 형성한 축어록을 코딩하여 나온 개념들을 지속적 비교법을 통하여 공통된 4가지 상위범주를 얻었는데, 양육적 관점, 문제행동에 대한 훈육, 재혼모-재혼자녀 간 유대감, 부부간 양육적 역할분담이었다. 연구자는 각 유형별로 4가지 범주에서 나타나는 차이점을 비교하여 그 결과를 매트릭스로 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare prevailing parenting characteristics among three types stepmothers. Their parenting characteristics were categorized into dissociated, dissolved, or settled one. The first type refers to the cases where stepmothers were not given enough opportunities to nurture their stepchild(ren) due to the child(ren)’s frequent runaways, while the stepmothers belonging to the second group failed to adjust into their new family and left the family. The third group was able to establish an amicable relationship with their stepchild(ren). Two typical cases of each type were selected. Process recordings from in-depth interviews with the mothers were coded and analyzed. Four common upper categories were obtained from continuous comparisons of themes from the process recordings: views of parenting, disciplines to stepchild(ren)’s behavioral issues, rapport between stepmother-stepchild(ren), and parenting role divisions between husband and wife. The researcher compared among three parenting types under the four upper categories and presents the results in a matrix format.
