예술중점학교 사업에 대한 교사의 경험 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 담당 교사의 경험을 통하여 예술중점학교 사업의 과정과 성과를 분석하기 위하여 5인의 담당 교사를 대상으로 초점집단면담을 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 먼저 사업 과정에서의 경험은 ‘동료 간 경험’과 ‘행정 경험’, ‘다중적 역할경험’으로 나뉘었다. 동료 간 경험에서는 ‘보이지 않는 갈등’과 ‘접점을 통한 공감’이나타났으며, 행정 경험에서는 ‘사업 축소에 대한 불안감’이, 다중적 역할의 경우, 담당 교사가 중첩된 역할로 인해 ‘비가시적 업무의 과적’을 경험하지만 ‘다시, 예술가로’ 돌아가 순환적 성장을 하는 양상 등이 나타났다. 사업 성과의 경우, 교사들의 경험이 ‘변화의 발전’, 변화를 추동하는 ‘힘의 특징’, ‘예술 경험의 역할’로 나뉜다는점이 관찰되었다. 이때, 변화란 ‘눈이 살아나는 아이들’, ‘탈피하는 아이들’, ‘스스로가 우수한 아이들’로 표현되며, 장기적으로는 ‘자기 길에 색을 만드는 아이들’로 인식되었다. 교사들은 이러한 변화가 학생들의 인생을 ‘살아내는 힘’이자 ‘자기를 보게하는 힘’에서 비롯되며, 예술 경험이 ‘중심이 되어보는 경험’, ‘숨소리를 공유하는 경험’, ‘성장을 본 경험’을 제공하기 때문이라고 인식하고 있었다. 이 연구는 교사의경험에 초점을 맞추어 예술교육의 의미를 재해석했다는 데에 의미가 있으며 학교예술교육에 대한 실무적 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the experiences of teachers at Arts -Specialized Schools during the project processes and project performances. Experiences during the project processes were divided into “peer-to-peer experiences,” “administrative experiences,” and “multiple role experience.” For peer-to-peer experiences, it demonstrated “invisible conflicts” and “empathy through contact points.” For administrative experiences, it showed “anxiety regarding project cuts” while multiple role experiences displayed a trend of circular growth where teachers who assumed multiple roles underwent “unexpected work overload” but eventually went “back to, artists.” In project performances, teachers’ experiences pertained to “discovery of change(of students),” recognition of “power traits” that drives change and understanding of “the role of art experiences on change.” Here, the changes were described as “students with their ‘eyes’ coming back to life,” “students who make ‘breakthroughs,’” “students with ‘excellent’ selves,” and “students who create ‘color’ on their own paths” in the long run. Teachers considered the change as “a strength to live” for students and recognized that the change stems from “the power to reflect on themselves.” Furthermore, art provided experiences where students became “the center,” shared “the breath,” and witnessed “the growth.’’ This study is meaningful in that it reinterpreted the meaning of culture and arts education by focusing on the teachers’ experiences and provided practical implications for school arts education.
