명화 감상 활동을 통한 공감 역량 신장 방안 모색

국문 초록

본 연구는 공감 역량 신장을 위한 명화 감상 지도 방안을 모색하고, 이를 실제 학생들에게 적용하여 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 공감은 다른 사람의 처지와느낌에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 그에 대한 정서적 반응을 느끼며 그 결과를 상대방에게 표현하는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 공감은 끊임없이 타인과 관계하며 살아가는 사회적 동물인 인간에게 삶을 영위하기 위한 필수적 요소이자 습득해야 할 역량이다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 명화 감상을 주제로 선정하고 서울 ○○초등학교 5학년 학생 31 명(남 17, 여 14)을 대상으로 공감 역량 신장을 위한 명화 감상 활동의 지도 계획을수립하여 총 8차시에 걸쳐 수업을 진행하였다. 수업의 결과 첫째, 명화 감상 지도는인지적 공감 역량을 향상시킨다. 둘째, 명화 감상 지도는 정서적 공감과 관련하여타인의 감정에 동화되는 감정이입 역량과 타인에게 온정을 베푸는 마음인 배려를 신장시킨다. 셋째, 명화 감상 지도는 의사소통적 공감과 관련하여 상호주관성을 갖고타인과 긍정적으로 소통할 수 있는 역량을 신장시킨다. 연구 결과 도출을 볼 때 이러한 교육적 경험은 학생들에게 공감 역량을 향상시켜 사회 구성원으로 성장하는 데밑거름이 되어줄 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find masterpiece appreciation art activities to enhance students’ empathy and draw implications by applying the method to students. Empathy is the ability to understand other people’s situation and feelings, feel an emotional response to it, and express the result to other people. Empathy is an essential element and ability to be acquired for human beings, a social animal that lives in constant relationship with others. Therefore, in this study, masterpiece appreciation was selected as the subject of the art activity to enhance students’ empathy and 8 units of lesson was implemented for 31 5th grade students in Seoul 00 Elementary School. Results of the lessons are following. First, masterpiece appreciation art activities improves students’ cognitive empathy. Second, in relation to emotional empathy, masterpiece appreciation art activities enhances students’ ability to assimilate into other people’s emotions and consideration, which is to give warmth to others. Third, in relation to communicative empathy, masterpiece appreciation art activities improves students’ ability to communicate positively with others with mutual subjectivity. Judging from the findings of this study, this educational experience will enhance students’ empathy so that they could grow up as the members of a society.
