만 4, 5세 유아의 문화기반어휘 ‘우리’의 사용 양상 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 만 4, 5세 유아의 문화기반어휘인 소유격 인칭대명사 ‘우리’의 사용 양상에 대해 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 부산광역시에 소재하고 있는 유치원과 어린이집 3곳에 재원 중인 만 4, 5세 유아 117명을 대상으로 가족, 교사, 반, 기관 등 4가지 자극 조건을 중심으로 그림 표상 집단 활동과 개별 면담을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 유아들의 반응은 각 조건의 질문에 대해 소유격 인칭 대명사 ‘우리’와 ‘내’를 사용한 유아 수를 확인하여 빈도분석과 교차분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 가족, 교사, 반, 기관 등의 4가지 조건을 통틀어 연령, 성, 형제 유무에 따른 문화기반어휘인 소유격 인칭대명사 ‘우리’사용 유아의 비율은 약 30-50% 사이이며 변인에 따른 일관된 경향은 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 형제가 있는 유아들은 형제가 없는 유아들에 비해‘내’보다‘우리’를 사용하여 자신의 가족을 표현하는 비율이 유의하게 높았다. 특징적인 점은 교사, 반, 기관 등 사회적 조건에서 가족 조건에 비해‘우리’어휘를 사용하는 유아가‘내’어휘를 사용하는 유아보다 상대적으로 많은 것이다. 이를 통해 한국인의 문화기반어휘에 대한 유아들의 사회화 정도와 특징을 이해하고, 관계 중심 문화에서 자라고 있는 유아들의 자기 개념과 사회적 정체성의 발달을 위한 교육적 지원에 관한 시사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the pattern of use of the possessive personal pronoun ‘woori(our) , a culture-based vocabulary for children aged 4 and 5 years. The subjects were 117 young children who are enrolled in three kindergartens and daycare centers located in Busan Metropolitan City, and data were collected by conducting group representation activities and individual interviews focusing on four stimulus conditions, including family, teachers, classes, and institutions. Frequency analysis and Cross-tabulation analysis were conducted on the number of children using possessive personal pronouns‘woori’ and ‘nae(my)’. As a result of the study, throughout the four conditions, the ratio of children using the culture-based vocabulary ‘woori’ was between about 30-50% according to age, sex, and the presence or absence of sibling, and there was no consistent trend depending on the variables. However, children with siblings had a significantly higher percentage of expressing their families using ‘woori’ than children without siblings. Through this, it is meaningful to understand the characteristics of children s socialization of Korean culture-based vocabulary and to provide implications for the development and support of children s self-concept and social identity growing in a relationship-oriented culture.
