예체능계열 석·박사 과정 중국인 교육수요자의 만족도 조사를 통한 교육과정 개선방안 연구: 수도권 A대학 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 예체능계열 석·박사 과정에 재학 중인 중국인 유학생의 교육과정 수행에 관해 조사, 분석함으로써 보다 개선된 교육과정 및 운영 방침을 수립할 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재 A대학의 유학생 업무 담당자와 음악학과 연주 전공 중국인 유학생들을 대상으로 포커스그룹인터뷰와 설문조사를 실시하였고, 얻어진 결과를 바탕으로 분석 연구를 수행하였다. 도출된 결과의 요약은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전공실기 과정에서는 수업의 양적, 질적 측면 모두 높은 만족도를 나타냈으며 타 교과 및 이론교과의 경우 중국인 유학생의 기초학력과 한국어 능력 등을 고려한 교과 개설이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 둘째, 학위논문 관련 조사 결과로 볼 때 논문작성의 필요성과 중요성에 대한 높은 인식 수준에도 불구하고 이에 따른 실질적인 수행은 이루어지지 않고 있었으며 중국인 유학생이 지닌 문제점 파악을 통해 논문 관련 교과를 개설, 운영할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 상호작용 조사에서 나타난 전공실기 지도교수와의 긍정적인 상호작용은 실기가 중심이 되는 예체능계열의 특성을 보여주는 결과로서, 지도교수의 멘토링 역할 강화와 아울러 유학국인 한국 학생 동료와의 교류 확대 및 인식개선을 위한 노력이 이루어져야 한다. 넷째, 가장 낮은 만족도를 나타낸 대학원운영 및 교육환경 항목의 경우 연습실 환경 개선과 확충 등 예체능계열의 특수성과 전문성에 부합하는 교육환경의 조성이 필요하다. 결론적으로 교육인프라 구축, 수업 설계 및 운영의 측면에서 예체능계열의 상황을 고려한 종합적인 접근이 이루어져야 하며 구체적인 방안은 전공별 혹은 구성원의 특성을 감안하여 보다 자세히 제시될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to establish improved curriculum and operation policy for Chinese education consumers by investigating and analyzing the performance of Chinese students in Korea enrolled in graduate programs in arts and physical education. To this end, a focus group interview and a questionnaire survey were conducted with Chinese students and international student affairs staff at ‘A’ University located in a metropolitan area. Analysis research was conducted based on both interview and survey results. Research findings and their implications are as follows: First, student satisfaction for major practical courses was found to be high in terms of their qualitative and quantitative aspects. Thus, other courses and theory courses need to be improved by considering the basic academic skills and Korean language ability of Chinese students. Second, thesis-related research results indicated that Chinese students are not effectively performing thesis writing despite their high awareness of the necessity and importance of writing a thesis. Thus, thesis-related courses should be operated after identifying the problems Chinese students have. Third, investigation on interactions showed that Chinese students have positive and active interactions with professors teaching major practical courses, reflecting the central role of practice in arts and physical education. Thus, efforts should be made to expand Chinese students’ interactions with and understanding of Korean students besides strengthening the role of professors as mentors. Fourth, since research results showed low satisfaction for graduate school operation and its educational environment, it is necessary to build an educational environment conforming to the uniqueness and professionalism of arts and physical education by improving and expanding the practice room environment. In conclusion, a comprehensive approach reflecting the uniqueness and professionalism of arts and physical education should be taken in building educational infrastructure and environment and designing and operating classes for Chinese education consumers. The characteristics of each major and its members must be considered as well to present specific plans in greater detail.
