국문 초록

본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 집단미술치료가 아동의 공감능력과 대인문제해결력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 G시에 거주 중인 초등학교 저학년 아동 12명으로, 실험집단 6명, 통제집단 6명으로 구성하였다. 실험집단에는 2019년 8월 19일부터 2019년 11월 4일까지 주 1회, 총12회기의 집단미술치료를 실시하였다. 측정 도구는 공감능력 척도와 대인문제해결사고 척도를 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 집단미술치료의 효과성 검증을 위하여 Wilcoxon 부호 순위 검정을 하였다. 질적 분석으로는 회기과정에서 나타나는 언어적, 비언어적 표현과 작품 내용을 바탕으로 아동의 공감능력과 대인문제해결력의 변화양상을 기술하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 그림책을 활용한 집단미술치료는 아동의 공감능력 향상에 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 그림책을 활용한 집단미술치료는 아동의 대인문제해결력 향상에 긍정적이었으며, 하위요인 중 대안적 해결사고에서 효과가 있었다. 셋째, 아동의 공감능력과 대인문제해결력의 질적인 변화를 살펴보면, 초기단계에서는 타인에게 지시하고 비난하는 등 갈등상황이 잦았으나 회기가 지날수록 자연스럽게 자신의 감정을 표현하고 의견을 조율하면서 타인을 공감하고 존중하는 변화가 관찰되었다. 따라서 그림책을 활용한 집단미술치료는 아동의 공감능력과 대인문제해결력에 긍정적인 효과가 있다고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of group art therapy using picture books on empathy and interpersonal problem solving ability in children. The study subjects consisted of 12 children in the lower grades of elementary school living in G city, 6 in the experimental group and 6 in the control group. The experimental group received a total of 12 group art therapy program sessions once a week. As measurement tools, the empathy ability scale and the interpersonal cognitive problem solving thinking scale were used. During analysis, the Wilcoxon signed rank test was conducted to verify the effectiveness of group art therapy. Qualitative analysis described the changes in children s empathy and interpersonal cognitive problem solving ability during the session. As a result, first, group art therapy using picture books had a positive effect on improving empathy in children. Second, group art therapy using picture books had a positive effect on improving children s interpersonal problem-solving ability. Third, with respect to qualitative changes, in the early stages of art therapy, there were often conflicts situations. As the more sessions passed, a change in empathy and respect for others was observed while coordinating opinions. Therefore, group art therapy using picture books can have a positive effect on children s empathy and interpersonal cognitive problem solving ability. Based on this research, the implications and limitations of this study are discussed.
