국문 초록

본 연구는 순수미술을 전공한 미술치료 박사 과정생의 미술작업 경험에 대한 자문화기술지로 미술과 미술치료 각 분야에서의 연구자의 미술작업 경험에 대해 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구자는 개인의 경험을 기반으로 미술이 가진 본질적 의미를 탐색함으로써 미술치료에서의 미술에 대한 새로운 관점과 통찰을 제시하고자 시도하였다. 이를 위해 2015년부터 6년간의 기억회상 자료, 자기성찰 자료, 미술작업 이미지, 작가노트, 반영적 글쓰기, 개인적 일기, 연구자 석사 논문 등의 다양한 자료를 수집 및 분석하였다. 분석을 통한 연구 결과, 연구자가 미술가로부터 시작하여 미술치료를 접하고 미술치료사의 정체성을 확립해 나가는 과정에서 미술작업을 통해 자기 인식을 경험하고 전문가로서의 태도를 점검할 수 있는 기회를 가져왔음을 알 수 있었다. 미술치료사로서, 그리고 미술가로서 그동안의 미술작업 경험을 돌아보는 연구자의 과정은 궁극적으로 미술치료사에게 미술작업이 왜 필요하며 미술치료 과정에서 미술을 어떻게 활용할 수 있는지에 대한 실제적인 단서를 제공한다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the art-making experience of researchers in the fields of fine art and art therapy as an Autoethnography of art therapy major doctoral students who majored in fine art. The researcher attempted to present a new perspective and insight on art in the field of art therapy by exploring the essential meaning of art based on personal experiences. For this purpose, various data such as memory recall data, self-reflection data, artwork images, artists’ notes, reflective writing, personal diaries, and the researcher s master s thesis, were collected and analyzed over a period of 6 years, staring in 2015. As a result of the analysis, the researcher had an opportunity to experience self-awareness and examine her attitude as an expert through the process of starting as an artist, experiencing art therapy, and establishing the identity of an art therapist. As an art therapist and as an artist, the researcher s process of looking back on her experience of art-making provided practical clues about why art therapists need art-making and how art can be used in the art therapy process. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study are discussed.
