남녀 유아의 자아 발달 경향

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아가 모래상자에 형상화한 이야기 주제들을 분석하여 남녀 유아의 자아발달을 이해하기 위한 것이다. 2곳의 공립유치원에 재원 중인 3-5세의 여아 25명과 남아 27명의 이야기를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 유아기 남아들의 이야기 주제들은 ‘은폐와 출현’, ‘침입과 방어’, ‘투쟁과 분리’, ‘운행과 사고’, ‘화재와 소화’ 등이 있었고 유아기 여아들의 이야기 주제들은 ‘은폐와 출현’, ‘돌봄과 방치’, ‘울음과 연주’, ‘보행과 운행’ 등으로 나타났다. 유아들의 이야기에는 자아로 상징되는 소품들이 여러 이야기에서 나타났다. 또한 남녀 유아의 자아로 상징되는 소품들이 ‘어머니’로 상징되는 것에 대해 갖는 태도, 소품의 움직임, 그리고 이야기 배경이나 소품의 종류들이 다른 경향을 보였다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구결과들을 자아발달의 관점에서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This purpose of this research study was to examine the narrative themes generated by young children in the sand tray to understand their ego development. Participants included 52 kindergarteners aged 3-5 years (27 boys, 25 girls). The themes of the boys narratives, derived from subjects behavior, included “concealment and emergence”, “invasion and defense”, “struggle and separation”, “driving and accident” and “fire break and fire fighting”. In contrast, the themes of the girls narratives were “concealment and emergence”, “caring and leaving alone”, “crying and playing instruments”, and “walking and driving”. Thus, several aspects of the children s self or ego were featured in their narratives. In addition, there were sex differences in the representation of the ego in the narratives, including differences in attitudes towards symbols of mothers, movement, and setting.
