국문 초록

본 연구는 숲 체험 실시여부와 숲 체험 운영(숲 체험 횟수, 경력)에 따라 유아의 다중지능에 차이가 있는지를 심층적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 일반유아교육기관에 재원 중인 만 3, 4, 5세 유아 118명과 숲 체험 유아교육기관에 재원 중인 만 3, 4, 5세 유아 100명의 연구대상 유아 총 218명을 대상으로 8개 영역 70문항으로 구성된 다중지능 검사도구를 사용하여 숲 체험에 따른 유아의 다중지능 정도에 대해 알아보았다. 연구결과 숲 체험 실시여부에 따라 다중지능 총점 및 신체-운동적 지능, 대인관계 지능, 자연탐구 지능에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 숲 체험 횟수와 경력에 따라 다중지능 총점 및 모든 하위영역에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine if engaging forest activities(i.e., how many times and how long a child experiences these activities) affects children’s multiple intelligences. A survey was conducted with 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old children who either attended regular child education institutes(n=118) or attended child education institutes with forest activities included in the curriculum(n=100). The survey consisted of 70 questions on eight topics, including a multiple intelligences measure; this study was conducted to examine to what domains of multiple intelligences were affected by forest activities. The results showed significant differences between the two groups on the total score of the multiple intelligences measure, as well as on the scores for physical-kinematic intelligence, personal relations intelligence, and nature research intelligence. In addition, the total scores of the multiple intelligences measure and all subscales differed significantly depending on the frequency and duration of forest activities.
