유아기 스마트기기 중독성에 대한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초중등 학생들에게 심각한 중독율을 보이고 있는 스마트기기의 중독이 유아기에는 어떤 양상으로 나타나고 있는가를 살펴보기 위하여 스마트기기의 중독 경향이 있는 유아를 대상으로 하여 놀이와 가정생활에 대한 현상적 이해를 질적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 B지역 소재 만3,4,5세 유아 152명의 설문지를 분석하였고, 그 중에서 중독 경향이 있는 유아 5인을 참여관찰, 부모 및 교사의 면담을 포함하여 질적 특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과로 유아 스마트기기 보유현황은 16%의 유아가 개인 기기를 보유하고 있었고, 하루 스마트기기 사용 시간은 1시간 이상 스마트 기기를 사용하는 유아가 11.2%에 해당하였다. 또한 일주일에 스마트기기를 4회 이상 사용하는 유아가 25.7%에 해당하였고, 스마트기기의 사용 용도는 동영상과 게임이 가장 많았다. 중독 성향이 있는 유아의 일상생활에서의 현상적 특성은 부족한 의사소통, 짧은 놀이 집중력 및 산만함, 현실 인지 부족 및 회피, 불안을 포함하는 특정행동이 나타나고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Past research has been done looking at addiction to smart devices in elementary to high school aged students. There has yet to be a study done looking at addiction to smart devices in early childhood. This study will be looking at the possible effects of addiction to smart devices in early childhood. Researchers looked at the effects of the addiction by investigating the how the child behaves in family life, and during playtime. 152 participants in B area were recruited from the city of Busan, and the age ranges from three years to five years old children. Under parental supervision the children were given a questionnaire to answer. Those, who were determined to be addicted to smart devices, were interviewed by a professional to analyze the effects of the addiction. The results indicated that 16% of the children owned smart devices, and 11.2% used the smart devices for more than an hour per day. Also, 25.7% used smart devices more than four times a week, and most of the time was spent watching videos and playing games. The researchers found that children had problems communicating, and had short concentration times during play. The children tend to evade reality, and developed strange habits.
