예비유아교사가 이야기하는 중국인 유학생과의 만남

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교육과에 재학 중인 예비유아교사를 위한 보다 긍정적이고 바람직한 다문화교사교육이 이루어지는데 궁극적 목적을 두고, 강점 탐구(appreciative inquiry) 활용을 통한 예비유아교사의 중국인 유학생에 대한 경험적 인식 변화를 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 참여자는 국내 K대학 유아교육과 4학년에 재학 중인 한국인 재학생 33명, 중국인 유학생 3명, 총 36명이었다. 연구결과, 한국인 재학생의 중국인 유학생에 대한 경험적 인식 변화는 1) 타자화로 인한 경계 지음에서 경계 허묾으로 나아가기, 2) 편협한 시선에서 관대한 시선으로 바라보기, 3) 소극적 방관자에서 도전하는 주체자로 인식하기, 4) 스치는 인연에서 인생의 ‘벗’ 되기를 희망하기로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 한국사회에서 생활하고 있는 외국인(중국인) 유학생에 대한 인식의 이해 및 교육적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The main purpose of this study is to provide more positive and desirable multicultural education for pre-service teachers for young children, exploring the changes in the experiential awareness of pre-service teachers interacting with Chinese international students studying in the department of early childhood education at the University of Korea through an appreciative inquiry method. Research participants included 33 Korean students and three Chinese international students who were seniors in the department of early childhood education. Results revealed the following changes in the experiential awareness of Korean pre-service teachers: 1) proceeding from building boundaries to demolishing boundaries related to otherness, 2) looking from a narrow perspective to a generous perspective, 3) perceiving being a passive bystander to being an agent of change, 4) hoping for the destiny to becoming a friend for life. Based on these results, we discussed the understanding of awareness in foreign(Chinese) students who are living in the Korean society as well as the educational implications.
