‘잘하는 것’과 ‘좋아하는 것’을 중심으로 한 유아의 행복 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아가 생각하는 잘하는 것과 좋아하는 것을 통해 강점을 인식하고 활용하는 맥락을 드러내고, 잘하는 것과 좋아하는 것 중 더 행복한 것과 그 이유를 알아봄으로써 강점 활용과 행복의 연관성을 탐색하였다. 만 5세 유아 22명을 대상으로 반 구조화된 면담과 질적 자료 분석을 실시하였으며 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아가 인식한 잘하는 것과 좋아하는 것은 인정과 자율성을 통해 경험하며 특히 잘하는 것에 타인의 인정과 긍정적인 피드백이 중요하였다. 둘째, 경쟁과 협력을 통해 관계적 측면에서 강점을 경험하였다. 셋째, 인내와 즐거움을 통해 좋아하는 것과 잘하는 것을 경험하고, 긍정적인 기대감으로 인내가 촉진되어 강점 증진의 기반이 되었다. 넷째, 유아의 행복은 자율성이 발휘되는 상황에서 경험되며 다섯째, 유아는 긍정적 관계 경험과 이를 능동적으로 만들어 갈 때, 마지막으로 즐거움을 넘어 선 성취를 통해 행복을 경험하였다. 이들 결과를 통해 유아의 강점 인식과 증진을 통한 행복한 교육현장의 실천을 위한 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal the contexts of recognizing and using strengths by interviewing the ‘doing well activities and ‘favorite activities that the children think, and to explore deeply the relationship between the use of strengths and happiness. The results of this study are as follows. For this purpose, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 22 young children aged 5 years and analyzed qualitative data. First, as a result of examining the doing well activities and ‘favorite activities , The children experience it through recognition and autonomy, in one side the recognition of others and the positive feedback were important especially in ‘doing well activities . Second, we can see that children can experience strength in terms of relationship through competition and cooperation. Third, children experienced ‘doing well activities and ‘favorite activities through perseverance and pleasure, and patience promoted by expected positive emotion was found to be based on continuous strength enhancement. Fourth, children responded that they can experience happiness when they experience a positive relationship and make it active, and through accomplishments that can transcend the present joy. Through these results, the implications for the practice of the happy educational field through the recognition and promotion of the strengths of the children were derived.
