국문 초록

본 연구는 경력단절 육아전업주부들의 정체성 구성의 변화와 그에 따른 정체성 위기를 심층적으로 파악하여 기독(목회)상담학적 관점에서 해결방안을 제시한다. 정체성 위기를 정체성 간 갈등과 정체성 내 위기로 구분하고, 정체성을 개인적, 관계적, 집단적 차원의 세 범주로 분류한 통합적 관점과 정체성 구성 과정 및 정체성 동기의 개념을 수용하여 정체성 위기를 분석한다. 총 8명의 경력단절 육아전업주부를 대상으로 예비연구를 진행한 후 2명의 연구 참여자를 최종 선정하여 내러티브 탐구를 수행하였다. 연구 참여자들의 정체성 위기 양상과 내용은 달랐으나, 개인적 정체성과 관계적 정체성이 갈등 구도에 있다는 점과 경력단절로 인해 개인적 정체성과 집단적 정체성 내 위기를 경험했다는 점에서는 공통되었다. 본 연구를 통해 규명된 정체성 위기의 해결방안은 여성주의 목회상담학의 네 가지 기능인 저항, 힘의 부여, 양육, 해방을 바탕으로 모색되었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 경력단절 육아전업주부의 정체성 위기가 개인의 정체성 동기와 소명을 중심으로 재구성된 정체성을 지향함으로써 극복될 수 있을 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the identity crisis of career–interrupted full–time mothers in Korea and to suggest solutions to the difficulties from viewpoint of pastoral theology. A theoretical framework explaining two kinds of identity crisis was built upon integrated perspective as to identity and Vignoles’ motivated identity construction theory. The pilot study was conducted with 8 participants, and 2 final participants were selected for the study using narrative inquiry method. The study shows that constructions and contents of identity crisis of each participants were different according to their own distinct life narratives. In both participants, personal identity and relational identity are in conflict and career interruption influences intra–identity crisis within each of both personal and collective identity. The solutions to the identity crises are proposed based on four functions described by B. Miller–McLemore in Feminist Pastoral Counseling. In conclusion, reconstructing identity centered on identity motives and the concept of calling can help them overcome the identity crisis.
