목회자 아내의 부부 적응에 관한 심리적 현상연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 부부 적응도가 높은 중년기 목회자 아내들을 대상으로 그들이 목회사역과 부부 적응에서 경험하는 심리적 현상과 본질을 밝혀내고, 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 목회사역과 가정생활의 이중적 구조에서 갈등을 겪는 목회자 아내들에게 목회사역과 부부 적응에 도움이 되는 기초자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 Spanier(1976)가 개발하고 이민식, 김중술(1996)이 번안한 한국판 부부 적응척도검사를 목회자 부부에게 실시하였고, 부부 모두에게서 109점 이상이 나온 목회자 아내 7명에게 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 참여자들의 심리적 중심현상은 ‘사모역할의 내적갈등에서 벗어나 영적 동반자로 삶의 정체성을 찾음’으로 나타났으며, 분석을 통해 39개의 주제와 11개의 주제군이 도출되었다. 본 연구에서 드러난 참여자들의 심리적 현상은 목회자 부부 모델의 부재, 목회사역의 고됨과 목회자 남편에 대한 실망, 부부갈등 대처방식의 미숙함이다. 부부 적응에 영향을 주는 요인은 신앙훈련과 사회적 자원을 통한 회복경험, 남편의 정서적 지지, 서로의 변화를 위해 지속적으로 노력한 점이 발견되었고, 부부 적응의 신앙적 의미는 서로의 삶을 존중하며 공유함, 목회자 아내의 삶을 능동적으로 살아감, 영적 동반자로 자리매김으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aims to undertake an in–depth investigation of the psychological phenomenon and its significance experienced by middle–aged pastors’ wives with high levels of marital adjustment. Participants of this study were 7 spouses of pastors. Both couples of all participants scored 109 or above on the Korean version of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale(DAS), developed by Spanier(1976) and translated by Lee Min–sik and Kim Jung–sul(1996). The collected data was analyzed using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. A total of 39 topics and 11 topic groups were identified through the analysis. The central psychological phenomenon occurring such in–depth data is ‘the transition from the role of pastor’s wife with conflict into discovering one’s identity as a spiritual partner.’ The psychological phenomena of pastors’ wives were found to be the absence of well–balanced models, the hardships of a pastor’s wife, disappointment in conflict with the husband and inadequate conflict coping methods. The spiritual meanings of marital adjustment were found respecting and sharing one another, actively leading the life of a pastor’s wife, and taking the role of spiritual partner.
