학업중단 위기 청소년을 위한 이야기치료의 효과

국문 초록

최근 우리나라 청소년들은 학교생활 부적응, 또래관계의 어려움, 문제행동, 가족갈등 등의 다양한 이유로 학업을 중단하는 청소년들이 해마다 증가하고 있다. 청소년 시기에 학업을 중단하는 것은 발달단계에 따른 필요한 지식과 기능을 습득할 시기를 놓치게 될 뿐만 아니라, 청소년들의 사회적 기술 습득 및 건전하게 성장하고 학습할 수 있는 적절한 기회를 놓치게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 학업중단 위기에 놓인 청소년들을 조기 발견하여 학업을 그만두려는 청소년들에 대한 적절한 개입 및 예방적 접근이 무엇보다 필요하다고 여겨진다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 학업중단 위기 청소년들이 경험하는 어려움을 Larry K. Graham의 심리 체계적 접근, 즉 개인, 또래관계, 가족관계 등을 기반으로 살펴보았다. 그리고 청소년 내담자들이 학업중단에 놓인 위기에서 어떻게 변화될 수 있는지를 이야기치료를 통하여 밝히고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 학업중단 위기 청소년들에게 이야기치료의 상담기법을 심층적으로 적용하여 내담자들이 어떻게 변화되는지를 체계적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 이야기치료는 학업중단 위기 청소년 내담자들의 또래관계 개선과 학교생활적응, 부모–청소년 자녀 관계에 긍정적인 영향을 미치었다.

영문 초록

Recently our adolescents drop out of school due to the ability to cope with the difficulties from schools, peer relationship, family conflict among other things. When adolescent students drop out it not only deprives them of the opportunity to receive enough knowledge and skills for their development but also it prevents them to acquire proper social skills, healthy growth and learning. Therefore, it seems imperative to locate such adolescents who face the drop out crisis as early as possible and exert appropriate interventions and preventive approaches accordingly. This study examines the difficulties of drop out crisis adolescents based on the Graham’s psycho–systematic approach focusing on individuals, peer relationship, family relationship and social system. This study shows how the changes occur to the clients using Narrative Therapy. The results are as follows: First, Narrative Therapy is effective in helping adolescents have better peer relationship and adoption in school life. Second, Narrative Therapy render positive effect on parent–child interaction.
