국문 초록

종교교육은 각 종교들에서 추출된 교육적 함의들을 교육적 체계내에서 가르치는 실천행위이다. 동시에 교육학적 관점에서 현재의 종교에 관한 문제들을 지속적으로 환기시켜 주어야 할 책무를 갖는다. ‘종교란 무엇인가’라는 원자론적 질문에서 ‘종교란 어떠해야 하는가’라는 생성론적 질문으로 나아갈 수 있는 비전을 제시하는 일이 그 하나일 것이다. 본 연구는 종교교육이 어떻게 교육학의 영역으로 포섭될 수 있는가에 대한 문제의식에서 출발한다. 이는 종교교육의 원리나 실천방안을 논의하기 이전에 선행되어야 할 교육학적 전제들을 일깨우는 작업이 될 것이다. 근대 종교학적 개념인 종교와 종교교육에 따른 모순과 오해들을 지적하고, 종교성이 교육학적 인간이해의 대상이 될 수 있는가에 대해서도 함께 논의해 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper is intended as an investigation of setting the direction of religion of education for overcoming the limit of religious education in the view of educational point.We can classify the religious education in three categories. It should be differentiated into ‘education of religion’, ‘education about religion’ and ‘religious education’. The first one has derived from the religious organizations. The second one has developed from the history of religion. The last one should be the investigational dimension of education. But only few attempts have so far been made at the last one. ‘Religious education’ is to discuss the educational aspects of the religious phenomena and the religious cultures. This subject deserves more than a passing notice. Viewed in this light, I suggest in this paper that we need new educational domain to discuss the religious education in the view of educational part. This will be one of valid arguments to overcome the modern paradigm and heal the problems of knowledge-centralized present education.
