국문 초록

이 연구는 불교의 교사관을 새롭게 검토논의하여 그 검토논의한 내용에 함축된 의의와 새로운 시사를 채출(採出)코자 함을 목적으로 한다. 여기에서 중심적인 주제는 주로 대승의 실천적인 보살불교가 지니고 있는 사상과 실천의 과정이 교육학적 차원에서의 이론화와 실천화의 시도를 기하려 했다.대승불교의 출현성장은 부파불교가 불교의 사명과 임무의 망각에 대한 자성과 비판 속에서 성립된 것이다. 또한 대승불교는 보살불교이고 이 보살불교는 서원불교다. 그리하여, 비원(悲願)의 서원행자인 보살들은 중생구제와 자기완성을 동시 통합적으로 추구하고 실천해 갔는 바, 그 실천의 삶은 6바라밀로 대표된다. 또한 6바라밀은 무아의 반야공관의 지혜에 의해 인도됨으로써 참다운 바라밀이 된다. 한편 대승의 보살행자들 가운데는 모든 중생들의 성불을 추구하여 국토성취원과 중생성취원을 서원발휘하여 스스로 맹세하되, “나의 이 서원이 이루어지지 못하여 최후의 한 중생이라도 끝내 성불하지 못한다면 나는 최후의 그 한 중생이 성불할 때까지는 결코 성불하지 않겠다는 비장한 서원을 발휘한다. 비원(悲願)의 보살불교는 이런 과정을 통해서 등장한다. 또한 대승불교의 자비사상과 교육애의 관계, 불교사상에 기초한 교육에서의 교사학습자 사이에 이루어지는 연기적 상호작용의 교육학적 의의 등에 주목했다.

영문 초록

The present study is concerned with the Buddhist view of a teacher and its meaning in the Bodhisattva path of Mahāyāna Buddhism. The study makes efforts to theorize ideas of practice of Bodhisattva pedagogically in order to apply its idea to actual life in contemporary educational circles. Mahāyāna Buddhists criticized and blamed the Abhidharma schools for neglecting to help people. Bodhisattva must help all sentient beings and seek own enlightenment at the same time. The practice of Bodhisattva path is called the Six Perfections(Pāramitās) which are delivered by perfect wisdom of Prajñā, i.e., Śūnyatā. Mahāyāna Bodhisattva vows heroically, I will not be a Buddha until last one being attains Buddhahood! Bodhisattvas would like to postpone to be a Buddha. This idea and process eventually make Bodhisattva path with compassionate vows. In the paper, the idea of infinite compassion of Bodhisattvas is given a special attention to some relations with educational kindness and pedagogical meanings of interactions which consists teachers and students through the educational progress. Bodhisattva must help other people and seek own enlightening at the same time. Also he doesn t have to put priority oneself, rather, have structure that one can complete oneself through saving all the other sentient beings. Because each the Six Perfection can become genuine Perfection when it is delivered by the perfect wisdom of Prajñā, other five Perfections acquire name of Perfection through the sixth, the Perfection of wisdom. The study emphasizes to apply the practice of Bodhisattva with compassionate vows to actual educational circumstance which consists of saving others and completing oneself.
