국문 초록

이 연구는 초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모의 다양한 학교교육 참여 활동에 영향을 미치는 사회인구학적 요인, 자녀, 학교 및 동기 요인의 영향력을 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울대학교 학부모정책연구센터에서 실시한 학부모의 자녀교육 및 학교참여 실태조사에 참여한 초등학교 1-6학년 학부모 778명의 자료에 대하여 기술통계와 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 수행하였다. 학교참여 세부활동을 학교운영 및 지원 활동(자녀/학교 관련 자원봉사, 교육기부, 학부모회)과 자녀교육 관련 활동(면대면/비면대면 상담, 오프라인/온라인 학부모교육)으로 구분하였을 때, 각 활동의 참여 여부에 영향을 미치는 결정요인들이 다르게 나타났다. 첫째, 사회인구학적 요인 중에서는 거주지 규모가 대도시보다 중소도시인 경우 학교 관련 자원봉사, 교육기부, 학부모회, 면대면 상담, 온라인 학부모교육의 참여 가능성이 더 낮았다. 맞벌이 여부에 따라서는 참여 가능성에 유의한 차이가 없었으나 맞벌이 부모의 경우 비면대면 상담에 참여할 가능성만 더 높았다. 둘째, 자녀 요인 중에서는 학교생활파악 정도가 높고 학교생활적응 수준이 낮을수록 상담 및 학부모교육 참여 가능성이 더 높았다. 셋째, 학교 관련 요인 중에서는 교육정보제공 만족도와 학교참여지원 만족도가 높을수록 상담 및 학부모교육 참여 가능성이 더 높았다. 넷째, 활동유형에 관계없이 외부 요인보다 학부모의 참여 동기와 관련된 내부 요인이 참여 여부에 더 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학부모 학교참여 활동이 다양하고 이질적인 특성을 갖고 있으며, 활동 특성에 따라 활성화 방안과 제도적 지원이 세분화될 필요가 있음을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to verify the socio-demographic, child-related, school-related, and motivational factors associating the school-based involvement of parents with elementary school children. Descriptive statistics and binominal logistic regression analysis were performed on the data of 778 parents in the Survey on Parental Education and School Participation conducted by the Family-School Policy Research Center of Seoul National University. Parental involvement activities were divided into school supporting activities (child-related/school-related volunteer work, educational donation, and parents’ association) and children s education-related activities (offline/online parent consultation and offline/online parent education) according to the characteristics of the activities and the analysis was conducted on eight detailed activities. As a result, it was confirmed that the factors associating the parental participation in each activity were different, and the influence of the related factors revealed in previous studies had changed. Regardless of activity type, it was found that internal motivational factors related to parental participation had a greater influence than external factors. Based on the results of the study, it was discussed that parental school-based involvement activities have heterogeneous characteristics, and policy support for enhancement in participation need to be subdivided according to the characteristics of the activity.
