국문 초록

본 연구는 그리스 처녀 여신들을 통한 미술치료사의 정체성 탐구에 관한 자문화기술지이다. Jean Shinoda Bolen의 저서인 ‘우리 속에 있는 여신들’ 에서 나오는 처녀 여신들의 원형을 심리학적 관점에서 살펴보고 미술치료사로서의 역할과 통찰을 통한 정체성 탐구의 과정을 기술하였다. 처녀 여신인 아르테미스, 아테나, 헤스티아의 원형의 다양한 특징들을 탐색하고 연구자의 삶에 원형들을 반영하는 경험을 통해 미술치료사로서 역할과 통찰에 관해 살펴보았다. 연구의 목적을 위해 2020년부터 1년 동안 기억자료, 자기성찰, 꿈, 그림들을 연대기적 순서에 따라 수집하였다. 미술치료수련감독 전문가의 연구에 대한 피드백을 받으며 개인분석을 통한 꿈에 대한 분석을 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 연구자는 아르테미스와 아테나 처녀 여신들을 통해 미술치료사로서 목표 지향적이며 이성적이던 삶이 감정에 취약할 수 있음을 알아차리게 하였다. 이러한 경험은 불완전성을 수용하며 스스로를 돌볼 수 있어야 비로써 자유로워질 수 있음을 알게 해주었다. 둘째, 연구자는 헤스티아 여신을 통해 미술치료사로서의 정체성 탐구는 인간적인 성숙을 바탕으로 한 내부적인 자질이 뒷받침되어야 함을 자각하게 되었다. 그리스 처녀 여신들을 통해 통합적으로 수용하는 자세는 성숙한 삶의 목적과 방향성을 모색할 수 있으며, 자기의 인식과 성찰적 태도는 미술치료사의 정체성 탐구를 도와 전문가로서 성장하기 위한 초석이 될 수 있음을 깨닫게 해주었다.

영문 초록

This study is an autoethnography on the exploration of identity of art therapist through Greek virginal goddesses. This study examined the original form of virginal goddesses shown in a book ‘Goddesses in Every Woman’ by psychoanalyst Jean Shinoda Bolen, and described the process of exploring the identity through roles and insight as an art therapist. Through the experiences of exploring various characteristics of original forms of virginal goddesses such as Artemis, Athena, and Hestia, and reflecting the original forms into the researcher’s life, this study examined the roles and insight as an art therapist. For the purpose of the study, memory, introspection, dreams, and paintings were collected in chronological order for one year from 2020. An analysis of dreams through personal analysis was conducted while receiving feedback on the research of the art therapy training supervisor. In the results of this study, first, through the virginal goddesses such as Artemis and Athena, the researcher realized that the goal-oriented and rational life as an art therapist could be vulnerable to emotions. From this experience, the researcher realized that it would be possible to get free only when oneself could be looked after by accepting the incompleteness. Second, through the goddess Hestia, the researcher realized that the exploration on the identity as an art therapist should be supported by internal qualifications based on humane maturity. The researcher explored the process of establishing the identity as an art therapist by seeking for the purpose and direction of mature life based on such experiences.
