집단미술치료가 또래관계 어려움을 호소하는 초등학생의 사회성과 공감능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 집단미술치료를 실시하여 아이들의 사회성과 공감능력의 향상을 검증하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 또래관계에 어려움을 겪는 초등학교 2학년 12명이었다. 본 연구의 기간은 2020년 1월 2일부터 3월 12일까지로 주 2회씩 총 9주에 걸쳐 총 16회기로 집단미술치료 프로그램을 진행하였다. 본 연구 참여자 12명은 실험군 6명과 비교군 6명에 무작위로 배정됐으며, 연구 도구는 초등학생용 사회성 검사 측정 도구, 공감 능력 측정도구, 학교생활화(KSD) 검사로 구성됐다. 데이터 분석은 SPSS 24.0을 사용하였다. 실험집단과 비교집단 간 사전 동질성 검증을 위해 독립 표본 Mann-Whitney U 순위합 비모수 검증을 실시하였다. 두 집단 간 미술치료 프로그램을 실시한 전후 공감 능력의 변화를 살펴보기 위해 Wilcoxon 대응 표본 부호 순위 비모수 검증을 실시하여 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 통계적 검증을 위한 유의 수준은 α=.05이다. 실험 군의 경우 평균 사회성 점수가 2.99점에서 3.65점으로 통계적으로 유의미하게 상승한 것으로 나타났다. 평균 공감 점수 역시 2.92점에서 3.42점으로 유의미하게 상승하였다. 위와 같은 연구 결과를 통해 실험집단 아동의 사회성과 공감능력 척도가 향상되었으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나므로 긍정적인 변화가 있었다. 본 연구는 집단미술치료가 또래관계에서 어려움을 호소하는 초등학생의 사회성, 공감능력 향상에 영향을 줄 수 있는 프로그램으로 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to conduct group art therapy to verify the improvement of children s sociality and empathy. The research subjects were 12 second-grade elementary school children with difficulties in peer relationships. This study was conducted twice a week. The selected 12 people were randomly assigned to six experimental groups and six waiting groups, with a total of 16 sessions. The research instruments consisted of the sociality test scale, the empathic ability test scale, and the school life test. Data analysis used SPSS 24.0, Mann-Whitney U ranking test was conducted to determine whether the experimental group and the waiting group were homogeneous at the onset of the experiment. To identify the difference in sociability and empathy of the two groups at the conclusion of the experiment, nonparametric Wilcoxon paired signed-ranking tests were conducted along with the qualitative examination of the process of sociality and empathy. The results indicated that in the case of experimental group the mean sociality score significantly increased from 2.99 points to 3.65 points. The mean empathy score also significantly increased from 2.92 points to 3.42 points. Therefore, this study is meaningful in suggesting the possibility that it can be used as an effective program on the sociality and empathy of elementary school students complaining of difficulties in peer relationships.
