구성주의적 학습환경운영에 관한 유아교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 해외에서 개발된 구성주의적 학습환경운영기술 척도의 한국어 버전을 이용해 한국의 유아 교사를 대상으로 구성주의적 학습환경운영의 중요도와 실행도에 대한 인식의 차이를 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위해 부산광역시 소재 유치원, 어린이집에서 만 3∼5세를 전담하고 있는 교사 215명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 t-검증과 IPA를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 유아교사가 인식하는 구성주의적 학습환경운영의 전 문항에 걸쳐 중요도와 실행도간에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 구체적으로 중요도가 실행도보다 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 추가적인 IPA를 수행한 결과 구성주의적 학습환경운영에 관한 23개의 문항 중 10문항이 1사분면에 위치하여 지속유지 문항으로 구분되었고, 집중개선이 필요한 2사분면에 2문항, 점진개선이 필요한 3사분면에 9문항, 과잉지양이 필요한 4사분면에 2문항이 위치하였다. 이 중 특히 집중개선이 필요한 문항들과 점진개선이 필요한 문항들에 대한 논의와 구성주의적 학습환경운영에 대한 유아교사의 인식 제고와 실제적인 교사교육의 필요성을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 2019 개정 누리과정에서 제시하는 놀이 환경 구성과 구성주의적 학습환경이 맥을 같이 함에 따라 유아주도적 학습환경 조성을 위한 기초자료로 활용이 가능하다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference between importance and performance of early childhood teachers’ perceptions on the Korean version of the scale for constructivist learning environment management skills which was developed abroad and validated for early childhood teachers in South Korea. The data were collected from 215 homeroom teachers of children aged 3 to 5 at child care centers and kindergartens located in Busan, Korea. The collected data were analyzed by t-test and IPA method using the SPSS 25.0 program. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. Teachers’ perception on the performance of constructive learning environment management was lower than their perception on the importance. As a result of performing an additional IPA analysis, 10 out of the 23 items of the constructive learning environment management scale were located in the 1st quadrant, which needs continuous-maintenance for the constructive learning environment. Two items were located in the 2nd quadrant that needs intensive improvement. There were 9 questions in the 3rd quadrant that needs gradual improvement, and 2 were located in the 4th quadrant that needs excessive avoidance. We discussed the items requiring intensive improvement and those requiring gradual improvement, to raise the awareness of early childhood teachers about the constructive learning environment operation and suggested the need for practical teacher education. The results of this study can be used as basic data for implementing a child-directed learning environment in that the direction of the play environment in the 2019 revised Nuri Curriculum and the constructive learning environment are similar.
