국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 스톱모션 애니메이션 제작 활동이 유아의 이야기 꾸미기 능력과 창의성에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 있다. 연구대상은 서울특별시에 위치한 2개 어린이집에 재원중인 만5세 유아 50명(실험집단 25명, 비교집단 25명)이었다. 실험집단은 10주 동안 14차시에 걸쳐서 스톱모션 애니메이션제작 활동을 실시하였고, 비교집단은 누리과정에 입각한 생활주제 중심 언어활동 및 미술활동을 하였다. 연구결과, 실험집단의 이야기 꾸미기 능력 점수가 비교집단의 점수보다 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 창의성 점수에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 연구결과는 스톱모션 애니메이션 제작 활동이 만 5세 유아의 이야기 꾸미기 능력을 증진시키는데 효과적임을 알 수 있다. 이는 스톱모션 애니메이션 제작 활동이 유아의 이야기 꾸미기 능력 향상에 효과적인 교수학습 방법이 될 수 있음을 시사하는 것이므로 유아교육현장에서 스톱모션 애니메이션 제작활동은 확대되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of stop motion animation activities on children’s storytelling abilities and and creativity. The study subjects are 50 five-year-old children attending a childcare center located in Seoul(25-experimental group and 25-control group). Children in the experimental group made a stop motion animation, while children in the control group did topic-oriented language and artistic activities according to the Nuri Curriculum. The results of this study are as follows; first, doing stop motion animation activities positively affected the children’s storytelling abilities. second, doing stop motion animation activities positively affected the children’s creativity, although the improvement was not statistically significant. These study results demonstrate making activities for stop motion animation are effective to enhance the storytelling ability the five-year-old children. these suggest that stop motion animation acvivities can be an effective teaching and learnig method for improving children’s stotytelling ability. Therefore stop motion animation activities in childhood education field should be expanded.
