참여와 소통을 기반으로 한 전시 연계 교육 프로그램 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 참여와 소통의 기제를 고찰하고, <프롬 더 비기닝>전시의 교육 프로그램을 개발하며 그 교육적 의미를 분석하고자 한다. 연구 개발 및 자료 수집 기간은 2018년 3월부터 6월까지 총 4개월간 진행되었으며 총 619명의 대학 구성원인 대학생, 대학원생, 교수 그리고 지역 초중등 학생을 대상으로 한 설문 조사를 수행하였다. 본 전시에서는 지역주민과 대학 구성원들이 작품에 대해 비평문 쓰고 전시한 <우리들의 이야기 시작>, 전시실 내 관람자들이 작품이나 미술에 대해 궁금한 점을 쓰는 코너인 <미술아 궁금해> 그리고 관람 후 전시 주제에 대한 관람자들의 생각을 표현하는 코너인 <우리들에게 시작이란...> 등이 개발되었다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, <우리들의 이야기 시작>이 관람자들의 관찰, 일상의 경험, 상상력 등을 통해 작품에 대한 해석과 자신의 의미를 만드는 장을 제공함으로써, 작품에 대한 관심과 이해를 고취시킬 수 있었다. 특히 일반 관람자들이 미술관의 전시에 직접적으로 참여하여 의미를 생산한다는 점(최성희, 2015)에서 적극적인 의미 생산자로서의 새로운 역할을 지니도록 하였다. 둘째, <궁금해 미술아>는 미술에 대한 일반적인 질문에서부터 전시 작품과 작가에 대한 질문을 독려하며 참여와 소통의 공간을 제공하였다. 셋째, 인천 지역 기반의 작품을 중심으로 한 전시는 지역 주민과 학생들의 지역의 문화와 역사에 대한 이해와 관심을 자연스럽게 이끌어 내었다. 넷째, 현대 사회에서 대학교의 전시 공간에 대한 관람자들의 인식은 지역의 문화공간으로서 역할, 교대 구성원을 위한 창의적 경험의 제공, 지역 주민의 미술 작품을 공유하는 공간 제공 등으로 나타났다. 제언으로, 대학교라는 전시 공간이 지닌 특수성을 고려하여 전시와 교육 프로그램 기획에 대한 대안적 접근을 다루는 후속 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study examines the mechanism of participation and communication, develops an educational program for the exhibition, and analyzes its educational meaning. The research development and data collection period lasted for four months, from March to June 2018, and surveyed total 619 people including university students, graduate students, professors, and local elementary and secondary students. I developed , in which college students, local elementary students, and community people wrote art writing about artworks and displayed those writings. The second, is a participatory corner where visitors in the exhibition room write questions about the art works and art. The third, is the participatory place for visitors to write or draw what they felt after visit. The results of the study are as follows. First, provided an opportunity for viewers to do their own interpretation and meaning-making through their observations, everyday experiences, and imagination, which could inspire interest and understanding of the works. Second, encouraged the questions about art from exhibitions and artists and provided a space for participation and communication. Third, the exhibition centered on Incheon-based works led to the understanding and interest of the culture and history of the community. Fourth, regarding the role of exhibitions in universities, visitors suggested role as providing a cultural space in local community, providing creative experiences for university members, and providing places where local residents exhibit their own artworks. As a suggestion, a follow-up study is needed to address alternative approaches to exhibition and educational program planning, taking into account the specificity of the exhibition space in university.
