‘관계적 신뢰’에 의한 도덕적 교육공동체 형성 가능성

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교교육의 위기를 극복하고자 새로운 도덕적 교육공동체 형성 가능성을 ‘관계적 신뢰’의 관점에서 찾아보고자 한다. 이를 위해, 신뢰와 신뢰관계에 관한 이론적경험적 선행연구들의 분석을 통하여 학교에서의 신뢰형성에 적합한 개념을 관계적 신뢰로 설정하고, 능력, 개방성, 돌봄, 상호존중, 그리고 협력을 관계적 신뢰에 의한 도덕적 교육공동체의 실현을 가능하게 하는 구성요소로 제안한다. 위의 다섯 가지 구성요소는 학교 구성원들의 신뢰관계 증대와 서로 간의 적합한 상호작용의 방식과 역할을 이해하는데 필수적인 요소로 작용할 것이다. 증대된 학교 구성원들 간의 관계적 신뢰는 도덕적 교육공동체 형성을 가능하게 하고 더 타당한 학교교육의 방향에 대한 새로운 비전을 제시할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to discuss the possibilities of relational trust as a key element in forming of moral communities in schools. Relational trust is one of the critical elements in constructing and developing human communities. Trust functions as a way to keep participants integrated in a cohesive community. In recent years, trust has become an important issue in an number of spheres in Korean society. In particular, the level of distrust of the Korean education system is very high, and that leads to distrust of school teachers, which created a crisis of public schooling and high demand for private tutoring. Human beings are relation-oriented beings. In other words, one s existence itself means a beginning of the relationships with his/her society. In this perspective, individuals, such as students and teachers, as a subjects in the web of relations between school community members. It takes truth as intersubjectivity formed in those relations. This study suggests following guidelines constitutive of relational trust in schools: (a) competence, (b) openness, (c) caring, (d) regard, and (e) collaboration. These five points are expected to overcome the crisis of public schooling and to construct moral communities in schools. Moral communities in schools based on relational trust between school community members might be able to offer possibilities to change the current forms of education into trust and caring. As a kind of school culture, relational trust should be seriously taken into account in forming moral communities in schools.
