국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 아우구스티누스의 ‘신적 조명’과 ‘신국’ 개념을 통해, 교과 지식을 ‘이해’하는 일과 교육 공동체의 의미를 밝히는 데에 있다. ‘신적 조명’은 교과 지식을 이해하는 일 안에 들어있는 교사-학생의 교육적 관계와 그 관계를 비추는 ‘신적인 빛’을 설명하는 개념이다. 아우구스티누스에 의하면, 교과지식의 이해는 학습자 개인의 인식의 차원을 넘어서 벌어지는 일에 해당한다. ‘신적 조명’이 이해하는 일의 초월적인 차원 또는 수동적인 차원을 해명하는 데에 도움을 준다면, ‘신국’ 개념은 친교 공동체로서 교육 공동체의 의미를 밝히는 데에 도움을 준다. 학교 공동체는 교과교육을 통해 세계의 신비를 이해하고 설명하는 동시에 그것을 이해하는 과정에서 또 다른 차원의 ‘교육적 관계’의 신비를 경험하도록 하는 특별한 공동체이다. 교육 공동체는 ‘교육적 관계’의 신비를 나눈 친교 공동체이며, ‘신적 조명’의 비추임을 받는 교육적 관계야말로 ‘신국’의 기반이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the this study is to clarify the meaning of ‘understanding’ the knowledge of subjects and an educational community through St. Augustine s concept of ‘divine illumination’ and ‘Civitate Dei’. Divine illumination is a concept that explains the educational relationship between teachers and students and the ‘divine light’ that illuminates the relationship. According to St. Augustine, the understanding of subject matters goes beyond the cognitive dimension of individual student. The concept of ‘divine illumination’ helps to explain the transcendental dimension or passive dimension of understanding. And the concept of ‘Civitate Dei’ will help to clarify the meaning of the educational communion as a communal society. A school is a community in which the wonders of the world are explained and understood subject-matter education, and allows learners to experience the divine mystery of the ‘educational relationship’, simultaneously. An educational communion, that is the foundation of ‘Civitate Dei’, is a communal society in which the mystery of ‘educational relationship’ is shared with it’s members.
