특수교육 교육과정 운영 실태 및 개선 방안에 대한 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 특수교육대상학생을 위한 교육과정의 운영 실태 및 개선 방안에 대한 인식을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 5개 그룹(교수 그룹 1개, 행정가 그룹 2개, 교사 그룹 2개)을 대상으로 포커스그룹면담(FGI)을 실시하였다. FGI 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특수교육 교육과정 체제의 경우 보다 유연하게 적용될 필요가 있으며, 학교수준 교육과정에 있어 보다 많은 융통성이 이루어질 필요가 있음을 보여주었다. 둘째, 특수교육대상학생을 위한 교육과정 운영의 경우 학교 교육 환경, 특수교육대상학생의 학업 수준, 특수교육대상학생의 장애 유형 및 장애 정도 등 다양한 요인들을 고려하여 교육과정이 이루어질 필요가 있음을 보여주었다. 셋째, 특수교육대상학생을 위한 교육과정의 개선 방안으로는 특수교육 교육과정의 근본적인 체제에 대한 변화, 교육과정의 내실화 및 전문 인력 확보, 특수교육대상학생의 다양한 요구를 반영하는 교육과정 개발의 필요성이 포함되었다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 연구 결과를 토대로 국내 특수교육 교육과정은 일반학교 단위에서 실시될 수 있는 교육과정의 개발 및 운영, 통합교육 환경에 배치된 특수교육대상자를 위한 교육과정의 보편적 교수 방법 포함, 중도중복장애학생을 위한 기능적 교육과정 및 감각장애학생을 위한 교육과정의 개발의 필요성을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find out the current status of the curriculum for students with special needs and the perception of improvement ways. For the purpose of the study, the study conducted focus group interviews(FGIs) with 5 groups(1 group of professors, 2 groups of administrators, and two groups of teachers). The results of the study were as follows: First, regarding special education curriculum system, it needed to be applied more flexibly, and need more flexibility in terms of school level curriculum. Second, the operation of the curriculum for students with special needs needed to be conducted by considering various factors such as school education environment, special education students’ academic level, and the types and degrees of disabilities of students with special needs. Third, the developmental methods of the curriculum for students with special needs included the change of fundamental system of special education curriculum, internalization of curriculum and securing of professional personnel, and the necessity of curriculum development reflecting various needs of students with special needs. Based on the results of these studies, the study aimed to develop and operate a curriculum that could be carried out at the general school level in the domestic special education curriculum, including the universal teaching methods of the curriculum for special education subjects placed in an inclusive education environment. The necessity of developing a functional curriculum for students with multiple disabilities and a curriculum for students with sensory disabilities was suggested.
