중학교 자유학기제 운영 역량 지원 요구도 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 교사와 학교의 자유학기제 운영 역량을 체계적으로 진단함으로써, 단위학교의 자유학기제 운영 역량 강화에 필요한 정책적 지원 요구를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 충북지역 216명의 중학교 교사들을 대상으로 자유학기제 운영 역량의 중요도 및 보유도를 조사하였으며, Borich의 요구도 분석과 The Locus for Focus 모형을 활용하여 중학교 교사의 지원 요구도 및 우선순위를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 교육과정 운영 역량에서는 ‘요구와 자원 간 매칭’, ‘교과 수업-자유학기 활동 간 연계·조정’ 역량이 상대적으로 낮았으며, 학교조직 운영 역량에서는 ‘역할 분담 및 업무 배분’, ‘전문적 학습공동체 운영’, ‘학부모 참여·협력’ 역량이 평균적으로 낮았다. 한편, 역량 요소별 중요도를 고려하여 지원 요구를 분석한 결과, 교육과정 운영 역량에서는 ‘자유학기 활동 프로그램 설계’, ‘교과 수업-자유학기 활동 간 연계·조정’, ‘학생 수행 기록·관리’와 ‘평가결과에 대한 의사소통 및 피드백’ 역량에 대한 지원이 시급한 것으로 나타났으며, 학교 조직 운영 역량에서는 ‘역할 분담 및 업무 배분’, ‘데이터베이스 구축’, ‘전문적 학습공동체 운영’ 역량 강화를 위한 지원이 우선순위로 꼽혔다. 우선순위에 따른 단위학교의 자유학기제 운영 역량을 강화하기 위한 정책적 방안을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to draw policy support needed to strengthen the capacity of the free semester system of unit schools in Korea by systematically diagnosing the ability of teachers and schools in operating their free semester system programs. To this end, 216 middle school teachers in Chungbuk area were surveyed to measure the level of perceived importance and actual retention of such competences to operate the free semester system, and the requirements and priorities of middle school teachers were reviewed using ‘Borich s demand analysis’ and ‘the Locus for Focus model’. According to the analysis results, the ability to matching needs and resources and connecting and coordinating between subject classes and free semester activities were relatively low in the capacity to operate the school curriculum management, and the ability to share roles and allocate tasks, operation of professional learning communities, and participation and cooperation of parents was low in the school organization management area. Meanwhile, as a result of analyzing the requirements for support considering the importance of each competency element, support for designing programs for free semester activities , linkage and coordination between subject classes and free semester activities , recording and management of students performance and communication and feedback on evaluation results were urgently needed to improve the capacity of school organization. In addition, support for allocation of roles and task , database construction , and strengthening of professional learning community was selected as priority. Based on such results, policy measures were discussed to strengthen the ability of unit schools to operate the free semester system according to priority.
