경계선 지능 언어발달지연아동의 직유의미이해능력

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 상위언어능력의 결함이 있다고 알려진 경계선지능 언어발달지연아동의 직유의미 이해능력을 살펴보고자 함에 있다. 연구 대상은 학령기 경계선지능을 가진 언어발달지연아동 12명과 동일 언어연령 일반아동 20명이었다. 모든 아동들은 의미직유 유형과 관념범위직유 유형으로 분류될 수 있는 20개 직유문장을 읽고 3개의 보기중에서 해당 의미를 가장 잘 나타내는 보기를 선택하였다. 연구 결과 경계선지능 언어발달지연아동은 언어연령 일치한 일반아동과 비교하여 모든 직유 유형에서 문장 의미를 적절하게 파악하는데 어려움을 보여 더 많은 오류를 보였다. 그러나 경계선지능 언어발달지연아동의 오류 패턴은 일반아동과 유사하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 경계선지능 언어발달지연아동은 직유의미이해에 있어 어려움을 가지고 있으나, 이해 패턴은 일반아동과 유사한 유형으로 발달하고 있음을 확인 할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate any differences in simile comprehension skills between language development delayed children with borderline intellectual functioning (BIF) and general children who were matched language ages. The subjects of this study were 12 language development delayed children with BIF and 20 general children who were matched language age. All children read the 20 simile sentences that could be categorized into meaning simile types(into idiom similes, non-idiom similes) and the scopes of ideas simile types(extensive similes, intensive similes). After then, they chose the most appropriate meaning of the simile sentence among the three examples. The results of the study showed that language development delayed children with BIF statistically significant lower level of performance in the simile comprehension task than general children at similar ages, but the error patterns of the two groups were similar.
