국문 초록

본 연구에서는 사춘기 자녀를 둔 한부모가정 어머니의 자녀양육 스트레스 경험의 본질적 의미와 구조를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 B시에 거주하는 한부모가정 어머니 4명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하였으며, 현상학적 연구방법 중 Giorgi의 방법을 사용하여 397개의 의미단위를 도출하였고, 19개의 하위구성요소로 묶은 뒤 최종 7개의 범주로 나누었다. 분석결과, 한부모가정 어머니의 자녀양육 스트레스는 생활고와 일과 자녀양육의 병행, 세상의 굳어진 시선, 사춘기 자녀의 발달적 특성으로 인해 가중되었다. 그러나 자녀에게서 삶의 의미와 희망을 찾았고 더불어 주변의 도움에 힘입어 그래도 세상은 살아볼만 하다는 긍정적 시각을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과의 의의와 제한 및 제언에 대해 논하였다.

영문 초록

The present study aimed to explain the structure of parenting stress of single mothers with adolescent children. To achieve this goal, four single mothers living in B city were chosen and interviewed. Using Giorgi method, a methodology of phenomenological study, 397 semantic units were derived and divided into 19 subcomponents, then finally classified into 7 categories. The results indicated that the rearing stress was aggravated by the following factors: economic distress, burdens from earning life, running the household at the same time, prejudicial views on single parents, and children’s developmental conflicts associated with single parent family. However, it is important to note that mothers reported having children allowed them to be able to see their life from a different perspective and ultimately contribute to one’s transcendence to better life.
