국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 저녁식사 빈도에 따른 우울, 학업성취도 및 인터넷 중독의 차이를 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 B지역에 소재한 20개 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 학생 총 747명의 자료가 최종 분석에 사용되었다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 초등학생이 일주일에 보호자와 함께 하는 저녁식사 횟수에 따라 0?2번, 3?5번, 6?7번의 세 집단으로 나눈 후, 인구통계학적 변인과 교차분석을 실시하였다. 또한 초등학생의 저녁식사 횟수에 따라 나누어진 세 집단에 따른 우울, 학업성취도 및 인터넷 중독의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 공변량분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 밝혀진 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모 직업이 없고 급식지원을 받지 않고 양친부모 가정 학생들이 저녁식사 빈도가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 모직업 유무, 급식지원 유무, 한부모가정 유무의 영향을 통제한 후에도 저녁식사 빈도가 높은 집단이 저녁식사 빈도가 낮거나 보통인 집단보다 우울, 인터넷 중독을 낮게 지각하였다. 반면 학업성취도에 대해서는 저녁식사 빈도에 따른 집단 간 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 후속연구에 대한 제언과 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between frequencies of family meals and elementary school students’ depression, internet addiction, and academic performance. 747 elementary school students participated in the study and completed questionnaires measuring demographic characteristics, the frequencies of family meal per week, and levels of depression and internet addiction. During this time, teachers completed academic performance checklist. Crosstabluation analysis and ANCOVA were employed to analyze the results. First, students in two-parent families with a non-working mother who are not also enrolled in a child nutrition program more frequently will have family meals together. In addition, compared to other students, these students were less likely to experience symptoms of depression and internet addiction. However, no statistically significant differences were found in terms of students’ academic performance based on the frequencies of family meal. Further findings and implications were elaborated in the study.
