예비보육교사들의 보육실습 전ㆍ후에 따른 어린이집 기타교직원 이미지 인식 연구: 어린이집 조리사를 중심으로

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 예비보육교사들의 보육실습 경험 전ㆍ후에 따른 어린이집 조리사 이미지 인식이 어떠한지 살펴보고, 그 의미를 발견하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 M대학에 재학 중인 24명의 예비보육교사들을 대상으로 하여 그림 그리기, 그림에 대한 설명 및 개별 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 보육실습 이전의 예비보육교사들은 어린이집 조리사에 대하여 ‘요리하는 엄마’와 ‘영양 관리 전문가’ 이미지로, 보육실습 이후의 예비보육교사들은 ‘제 3의 보육교사’와 ‘실습생들을 위한 쉼터’ 이미지로 인식하고 있었다. 즉 보육실습 이전의 예비보육교사들은 여러 전공 교과목 수업에서 습득한 보육교직원들 각각의 직무에 대한 기초적 이해에 근거한 조리사 이미지를 형성하고 있었다면, 보육실습 이후에는 조리사와의 직접적인 경험에 따라 직무에 대한 이해도가 높아짐과 동시에 보다 입체적인 이미지를 형성하게 된 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 조리사를 중심으로 한 보육실습 전ㆍ후에 따른 기타교직원 이미지 탐색은, 예비보육교사들에게 있어 어린이집 내에서 다양한 직무를 맡은 타 교직원들의 역할에 대한 재개념화가 이루어지도록 돕고, 어린이집 내 조직문화와 인적환경 관련 이해를 심화시키는데 도움을 주리라 본다. 이러한 이해는 예비보육교사들이 향후 전반적인 어린이집 이미지를 구체적으로 형성하는 데에도 기여할 뿐 아니라, 이들이 어린이집의 일원으로서 자리매김하는 데에도 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of pre-service childcare teachers on the images of childcare center cooks before and after their experience of childcare practicum, and to shed light on the meaning of their awareness. Method: Data were gathered from 24 pre-service childcare teachers in a college by asking them to draw pictures and explain their pictures and by having individual interviews with them, and the collected data were analyzed. Results: The pre-service childcare teachers regarded cooking mothers and nutrition management expert as the images of daycare center cooks before they engaged in childcare practicum, and they looked upon third childcare teachers and shelters for student teachers as their images after that. In other words, the pre-service childcare teachers built the images of cooks before experiencing childcare practicum based on the basic understanding of the duties of childcare center staff members that they had in various major classes. After that, they had a better understanding of the duties of cooks as they had direct experience of contacting cooks, and their images of them became more three- dimensional. Discussion and Conclusion: Exploring the images of other childcare center staff members, especially cooks, before and after childcare practicum is expected to facilitate the reconceptualization of pre-service childcare teachers on the roles of other staff members in charge of different duties, and to help enrich their understanding of organizational culture and human environments in daycare centers. This kind of profound understanding will not only make a contribution to the formation of overall childcare center image in pre-service childcare teachers but also exert a positive influence on their settlement as members of childcare centers.
