집단독서치료의 치료요인 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 집단독서치료 참여자들의 경험을 통해 집단독서치료의 치료요인을 탐색하고 이해하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 동료지명방법에 의해 가장 유능한 독서치료 전문가로 선정된 2인이 운영한 집단에 집단원으로 참여한 성인 14명을 대상으로 개별면담을 실시하고, 질적 연구방법 중 하나인 근거이론 접근방법으로 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과로 첫째, 집단독서치료 참여자들의 변화와 관련하여 82개의 개념, 40개의 하위범주, 15개의 범주가 도출되었다. 둘째, 집단독서치료의 치료요인은 과정요인과 성과요인으로 구분되었다. 과정요인은 ‘참여자 개인요인’, ‘매체를 통한 집단원과의 상호작용요인’, ‘집단원요인’ ‘치료자요인, ‘집단요인’, ‘매체요인’으로 나타났다. 성과요인은 ‘자기이해 및 수용’, ‘시각의 확장 및 가치관의 변화’, ‘상처완화 및 문제에 대한 인식의 변화’, ‘문제해결력 증진’, ‘내적변화욕구 고취’, ‘타인이해’, ‘타인에 대한 긍정적 관심’(이타심), ‘타인과의 관계 변화’, ‘실존적 변화’, ‘가족의 재구조화’로 도출되었다. 특히 매체요인은 집단상담의 모든 치료요인을 촉진하는 것으로 나타났고, 매체요인 중 ‘안전함’과 ‘통찰의 연속성’은 다른 집단상담에서는 찾아볼 수 없는 요인으로 드러났다. 그러므로 집단독서치료에서 매체는 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 확인하였다. 끝으로, 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 상담적 개입에 있어서 참여자들이 성장하고 변화하도록 돕는 데 필요한 제언과 함께 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 하였다. 본 연구는 집단독서치료 참여자들의 경험을 근거이론 접근방법을 통하여 심층적으로 탐색하여 집단독서치료의 치료요인을 상세하게 밝힘으로써 집단독서치료의 실체를 이해할 수 있는 기틀을 제공해 주었다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate and understand therapeutic factor of group bibliotherapy through the experience of participants in group bibliotherapy. For this purpose, individual interviews were conducted with 14 adults who were chosen by the best bibliotherapists through peer nomination and the results were analyzed by grounded theory, which is one sort of qualitative research method. The main results of this study were as follows : First, related to the change of participants in group bibliotherapy, showing results : 82 concepts, 40 subcategories, and 15 categories. Second, Therapeutic factor of group bibliotherapy divided into process factor and performance factor. Process factors were ‘individual factor’, ‘interaction factor with group members by reading material’, ‘group member factor’, ‘therapist factor’, ‘group factor’ and ‘reading material factor’. Performance factors were ‘self-understanding and acceptance’, ‘extension of viewpoint and value shift’, ‘relieve scar and change perception about the problem’, ‘enhance problem-solving ability’. ‘inspiration of desires for internal change’, ‘understanding others’, ‘positive regard about others’(altruism), ‘changing relationship with others’, ‘existential change’, and ‘restructuring family’. Especially reading material factor promotes all therapeutic factors of group counseling. And ‘safety’ factor and ‘continuous insight’ factor of material factors are not found in any other group counseling. Therefore, in group bibliotherapy, reading materials are very important. Finally, based on this study, I suggested proposals that could help clients to grow and change in counseling and about a follow-up study. This study has a significant meaning to provide a foundation of understanding of group bibliotherapy by determining therapeutic factors of group bibliotherapy in detail through exploration of participants’ experiences in depth by grounded theory approach.
