국문 초록

본 연구는 가트만 이론을 기반으로 한 예술심리치료가 예비부부의 의사소통을 향상시키는데 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 규명하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 프로그램 진행 및 추후 인터뷰 진행 이후에 결혼식을 올리는 초혼 예비부부를 대상으로 온라인상에서 참여 신청을 받아 총 8커플을 선정하였다. 그중 매주 1회씩 프로그램에 바로 참여 가능한 4커플을 실험집단으로 구성하였고, 나머지 4커플을 통제집단으로 선정하였다. 실험집단에게는 2018년 4월 14일부터 2018년 5월 11일까지 총 4회기에 걸쳐 의사소통 향상을 위한 예술심리치료 프로그램을 주 1회 150분간 실시하였고, 참여자들 모두 같은 시간대에 함께 참여하지 못하여 각각 커플로 진행하였다. 각 집단별 윌콕슨 부호 순위 검정(Wilcoxon’s singed-rank test)을 통해 의사소통 사전-사후검사 점수를 산출하여 집단 간의 차이를 알아보았으며, 프로그램 활동 내용 및 추후 인터뷰를 통해 참여자의 주관적인 느낌을 질적 자료로 포함하여 의사소통의 변화 양상을 알아보았다. 연구의 결과는 가트만 이론을 기반으로 한 예술심리치료가 예비부부의 의사소통 향상에 통계적으로 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 하위 요인으로는 긍정적 의사소통은 유의미한 효과가 있는 데 반해, 부정적 의사소통은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때 가트만 이론을 기반으로 한 예술치료심리가 예비부부의 의사소통 향상에 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of art psychotherapy based on Gottman theory on improving communication an engaged couple. The subject of this study is first marriage couples, whose wedding dates are already set. A total of eight engaged couples enrolled on the program by filling in an online application, and they participated in the program and a subsequent interview before their marriage. Among them four couples who can participate in the program once a week were composed of an experimental group and the remaining 4 couples were selected as a control group. For the experimental group, art psychotherapy program was conducted once a week for 150 minutes to improve communication through four sessions from April 14, 2018 to May 11, 2018 and participants could not attend together at the same time, and proceeded by each couple. We applied Wilcoxon’s singed-rank test for each group to determine the differences between the groups by calculating pre and post test scores of communication, and we examined the change patterns of communication including subjective feeling of participants as qualitative data through program activities and followed interviews. The results of the study showed that art psychotherapy based on the Gottman theory had a statistically effective on improving the communication of the engaged couple. Due to subfactor, the positive communication has a significant effect, whereas negative communication does not have a statistically significant difference. These results prove that art psychotherapy based on Gottman theory is effective in improving communication of an engaged couple.
