국문 초록

본 연구는 학생이 지각하는 학습자중심 수업방법, 사고양식과 민주시민의식의 구조적 관계를 분석하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구를 위해 세종시에 위치한 중학교에 재학 중인 학생 324명의 설문 자료가 SPSS 21.0과 AMOS 21.0을 통해 분석되었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생이 지각하는 학습자중심 수업방법은 사고양식에 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사고양식은 민주시민의식에 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학생이 지각하는 학습자중심 수업방법은 민주시민의식에 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 사고양식은 학생이 지각하는 학습자중심 수업방법과 민주시민의식의 관계에서 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 매개변인으로서의 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 학생들의 사고양식을 매개로 민주시민의식에 영향을 주는 교수․학습 방법에 대한 변인을 밝혀서 적성-처치상호작용(ATI)에 기반을 둔 민주시민교육에 대한 방안을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze structural relations among learner-centered instructional methods perceived by students, thinking styles and democratic citizenship. The data were collected from 324 middle school students through a survey and analyzed through statistical software such as SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. Descriptive statistics analysis was implemented to describe the basic features of the data. Also, correlation analysis and structural equation modeling were adopted to estimate relations among learner-centered instructional methods perceived by students, thinking styles and democratic citizenship. Results were as follows. First, learner-centered instructional methods perceived by students positively predicted thinking styles at the significance level. Second, thinking styles showed positive impact on democratic citizenship at the significance level. Third, learner-centered instructional methods perceived by students positively predicted democratic citizenship at the significance level. Fourth, thinking styles were the mediator variable among the three latent variables at the significance level. Specifically, executive in thinking styles showed negative impact, whereas legislative and judicial were positive impact factors. Results in this study could provide implications on democratic citizenship education based on aptitude-treatment interaction.
