국문 초록

본 연구에서는 심우도의 심리적 발달 단계가 심리적 문제를 해결하는 과정과 일치할 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. 심우도의 각 단계는 분석심리학, 교류분석, 게슈탈트, 인지치료, 의미치료, 현실치료, 개인심리학, 인간중심상담 등의 심리치료에서 심리적 문제를 해결하는 과정과 유사함을 나타내었다. 그리고 심우도에서 나타난 수행의 완성단계에서는 각 분야의 모든 심리치료를 보다 효율적으로 수행할 수 있음도 나타내었다. 심우도에서 나타나는 인(人), 즉 사람은 정신작용의 주체이며 소는 정신작용의 객체, 즉 감정, 사고, 느낌 등으로 볼 수 있다. 이 ‘내면의 소’는 ‘내면의 술취한 코끼리’, ‘내면의 아이’, ‘콤플렉스’, ‘그림자’, ‘아니마’, ‘아니무스’, ‘에고(ego)’ 등으로 표현되기도 한다. 심우도의 내면의 소는 인간의 심리적 문제이며 불행의 원인이다. 그러므로 심우도의 수행단계와 심리문제의 해결 과정이 유사함을 알 수 있다. 심우도에서는 내면에서 일어나는 심리작용을 객관화시켜 바라볼 수 있게 하고 그 심리작용에 휘둘리거나 끌려가지 않을 수 있다는 사실을 보여주고 있다. 득우의 단계가 심리적 문제에 휘둘리지 않을 수 있는 상태를 나타낸다. 그리고 기우 귀가와 망우존인의 단계가 심리적 문제에서 완전하게 해방되는 것을 나타낸다. 인우구망과 반본환원의 단계에서는 사람마저도 초월하여 본래의 자성으로 회귀한다. 본성이라고 할 수 있는 참된 자기의 경지에서는 개체적 사람마저 용납하지 않는다. 이 연구를 통하여 인간의 참된 자기에 대하여 나타내었는데, 참나는 인우구망의 단계 ― 내면의 부정적 정신에너지 및 그것을 알아차리는 관찰자마저 초월한 단계 ― 에서의 존재양상이라는 것이다. 참나는 심리적 문제로 고통당하는 그런 존재가 아니라는 사실이다. 이러한 사실을 심리치료자나 내담자가 정확하게 인지할 수 있게 된다면 많은 심리적 문제를 해결할 수 있게 될 것이다. 그래서 자아를 초월한 본성의 이해와 그것에 회귀하는 방편에 대해 세밀하게 조명하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This study looked at whether the psychological developmental stage of the ten Ox Herding Pictures corresponds to the process of solving psychological problems. Each stage of the ten Ox Herding Pictures shows similarity to the process of psychological problem solving in psychotherapy such as analysis psychology, psychoanalysis, gestalt, cognitive therapy, logotherapy, reality therapy, individual psychology, and person-centered counseling. In addition, in the stage of completion of the training in the ten Ox Herding Pictures, all psychotherapy in each field can be performed more efficiently. The person who appears in the ten Ox Herding Pictures, the person, is the subject of mental action, and the ox can be seen as an object of mental action, that is, emotions, thoughts, and feelings. This ‘cow’ is also expressed as ‘inner drunken elephant’, ‘inner child’, ‘complex’, ‘shadow’, ‘anima’, ‘animus’, ‘ego’. The inner cow of the ten Ox Herding Pictures is a human psychological problem and a cause of misfortune. Therefore, we can see that the level of training of the ten Ox Herding Pictures and the process of solving psychological problems are similar. The ten Ox Herding Pictures provides an objective view of the inner psychology and shows that it may not be swayed or attracted to. It indicates a state in which the stage of ‘Caching the Ox’ can not be disturbed by psychological problems. And it indicates that the stages of the ‘Coming Home on the Ox s Back’ and ‘The Ox Forgotten, Leaving the Man Alone’ are completely liberated from the psychological problems. At the stage of the ‘Both Ox and Man were Forgotten’ and ‘Returning to the Origin, Back to the Source’, it transcends even the man and returns to the True Self. In the state of true self, which can be called nature, even individual man are not tolerated. Through this study, I have shown the true self of man. True self, that is, the style of being in the stage of ‘Both Ox and Man were Forgotten’, - a step beyond negative mental energy within the inner world and the observer who recognizes it. It is true that it is not such a thing as suffering from a psychological problem. If people, especially psychotherapists and physicians, are able to recognize this fact correctly, many psychological problems will be solved. So I sought to elaborate on the understanding of nature beyond transcendence of self and the way of returning to it.
