학교생활에 부적응하는 청소년을 둔 가족의 가족치료사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교생활에 부적응하는 청소년과 부모를 대상으로 진행한 단일 가족치료사례를 분석한 것이다. 내담자의 학교 부적응과 행동 문제는 초등학교 5학년 때 시작되었고, 중학생이 되면서 문제가 더욱 심각하게 되어 가족치료를 시작하게 되었다. 내담자가 초등학교 1학년 때 아버지가 사고로 오른쪽 팔을 잃게 되면서, 엄마가 직장에 나가기 시작했다. 이때부터 아빠는 직장인에서 전업주부가 되어 아이의 등하교를 챙기는 주 양육자가 되었고, 엄마는 직장인이자 실질적인 가장이 되는 역할의 전환이 생겨났다. 이 과정에서 가족이 사용한 역기능적인 의사소통 방식은 자녀의 행동문제와 가족구성원 간의 갈등을 촉발하고 유지시키는 요인이 되었다. 자료 수집은 총 23회기의 가족치료 상담 중 가족구성원 전체가 참여한 가족상담(18회)과 부모상담(5회)에 대한 상담기록과 녹음을 바탕으로 이루어졌다. 결과는 코딩 과정을 통하여 개념들을 도출하고 개념들의 상위 범주를 발견하였는데, 36개의 하위범주와 19개의 중간범주 그리고 3개의 상위범주로 추출되었다. 본 연구를 통해서 치료자가 사용한 가족치료 기법들인 치료적 동맹 맺기, 역기능적인 가족 의사소통 패턴의 조명, 기능적인 의사소통 방식에 대한 코칭 등이 내담자의 문제 행동 감소와 가족 구성원 간에 인식, 경계선, 자아분화도 그리고 가족 의사소통 방식의 개선에 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때 본 연구는 가족 발달 단계에서 전환기를 맞이한 가족들, 특히 갑작스러운 위기상황으로 전환기에 놓여 진 가족들에게 가족치료 경험에 대한 이해를 높이고, 새로운 상황에 대한 적응력을 향상시키기 위한 가족치료 및 가족교육 서비스와 프로그램 개발에 참고자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study is an analysis of a single case of family therapy conducted with a middle school adolescent with adjustment problems and his parents. The client’s school maladjustment and behavioral problems started when he was in fifth grade and became worse when he reached a middle school age and his family began family therapy. When the client was first grade, his father lost his right arm, and then his mother began working. His father has become a full time housewife man while his mother worked as an office manager and the parents’ gender roles were shifted. it. The way of communication that the family members used during the time was not functional so it triggered and maintained the client’s behavioral problems and conflicts among the family members. Data collections was made with counseling notes and verbatim records from a total of 23 family therapy sessions which consist of 18 family counseling sessions and 5 sessions only with the parents. Results include 36 low categorization and 19 middle categorization and 3 upper categorization. From this research, family therapy techniques that used by the therapist for the family such as forming a therapeutic alliance, casting light upon dysfunctional family communication patterns, coaching functional communication skills proved to be effective on reducing the client’s behavioral problems, increasing family members awareness, boundary line and differentiation as well as improving family members’ functional ways communication. From the results, this research can be used for families that encounter transitions in their development stages, especially for families that are confronted with abrupt crises, by providing informaton about family therapy experience and family education services as a reference material.
