국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 기독병사가 인식하는 하나님 이미지와 자아존중감이 군 생활 적응에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는가와, 군 생활 적응 정도가 높은 집단과 낮은 집단 간에 하나님 이미지와 자아존중감이 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지를 탐색하는 데 있다. 자료 수집을 위해 공군 전투비행단 여섯 기지의 기독병사를 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였고, 455부를 분석 자료로 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기독병사 전체집단에서 하나님 이미지와 군 생활 적응 간의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 하나님 이미지의 하위변인 중 ‘영향력’과 ‘수용’은 군 생활 적응과 정적인 상관관계에 있었고, ‘섭리’는 부적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아존중감과 군 생활 적응과의 관계를 분석한 결과, 자아존중감의 하위요인 중 ‘지도력과 인기’, ‘자기주장과 확신’이 기독 병사들의 군 생활 적응을 유의미하게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 자아존중감은 군 생활 적응을 설명하는 동시에, 하나님 이미지에도 영향을 미치며, 하나님 이미지를 통해 군 생활 적응을 추가적으로 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 양적 자료분석 방법으로 기독 병사들의 군 생활 적응을 설명하는 요인으로서 하나님이미지와 자아존중감에 대해 분석하고, 기독 병사들이 군 생활 적응력을 향상하는 데 어떤 상담적 조력이 필요한지에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 데에 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the present study is to examine how Christian soldiers image of God and their self-esteem affect their adjustment to military service, and the difference between a group with high level of adjustment and a group with low level of adjustment regards to the image of God and self-esteem. To collect data, 455 surveys were collected from Christian soldiers serving at six Air Force fighter wings. The results of the current study are as follows. First, two sub-factors of the image of God, ‘influence’ and ‘acceptance’, indicated positive correlations with adjustment, whereas the other sub-factor of the image of God, ‘providence’ showed a negative correlation with adjustment. Second, in relation between sub-factors of self-esteem and adjustment, factors of ‘leadership and popularity’ and ‘self-assertion and conviction’was discovered to meaningfully explain the adjustment to the military service. Self-esteem does not only have a direct influence on adjustment and the image of God but also has an additional influence on adjustment through the image of God. This research has been conducted through quantitative data analysis on factors of the image of God and self-esteem, which explain the adjustment to military service of Christian soldiers. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic data in determining what counseling aids are necessary to enhance Christian soldiers adjustment to the military service.
