국문 초록

본 연구는 초보미술치료사인 연구자의 자기탐색 및 탐구를 통한 자기이해 여정의 자전적 탐구이다. 이 연구 는 미술치료 현장에서 나를 소진시키는 감정들이 치료사로서의 자기 기능 수행을 저해하는 경험을 토대로 하 여 시작 되었다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통하여 초보미술치료사가 되기 이전의 ‘나’를 돌아보고 의미 있는 경험들 을 추출하였다. 또한 개인분석 및 개인치료, 그림 작업 분석 과정에서 ‘나’를 만난 경험들을 자전적 글쓰기와 내러티브 방법론을 적용하여 6가지 이야기로 엮어내고, 5가지의 이야기로 다시 이야기함으로써 이 여정이 드러 내는 의미와 치료적 가치를 탐구하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 이는 연구자의 주관적인 과거를 재경험 하는 과정이 었으며 이로써 연구자의 과거에 뿌리를 내리고 있었던 감정이나 욕구들의 역사를 드러내는 경험이었다. 연구자 는 ‘현재에 존재하는 나’에 대한 자각과 ‘과거의 나’와 ‘현재의 나’, 그리고 ‘치료사로서의 나’에 대한 이해를 통 해 나의 모습들을 조율해 갔으며, 온전한 나의 모습으로 치료사로서 성장할 수 있는 발판을 마련하였다.

영문 초록

This thesis is an autographical inquiry into the self-understanding journey of myself, a novice art therapist, by using self study and exploration. My journey of “self-understanding” started from the inner strong desire for survival as an art therapist. Throughout the entire process of the study, I attempted to experience any kinds of self-awakening moments, meanings, themes, and stories embedded in my life that could guide me to grow as a whole person and as a therapist. Narrative inquiry was adopted as the research methodology not only to understand my whole life, but also to create the social meanings embedded in the understandings found in this study. The self-understandings in this study were basically obtained from self-analysis, individual psychotherapy, and painting analysis and the understandings were broadened or deepened with intensive journal and autobiographical writing. Through this process, the researcher was able to expose the histories of the emotions and desires deeply rooted in my past. This process, in addition, frequently enabled me to experience “who I am and how I exist” in the present. This study involved the process of harmonizing myself between the past, the present, and the future, and it also provided me with a foothold for becoming a good art therapist, as well as a truthful being of myself.
