자립을 준비하는 쉼터청소년의 미술치료 경험

국문 초록

자립을 준비하는 쉼터의 청소년이 미술치료의 과정에서 어떠한 경험을 하는지, 또 그 의미가 무엇인지 알아 보기 위하여 본 연구를 실시하였다. 청소년쉼터의 입소생인 18세 여자청소년을 연구 참여자로 하여 2014년 3월 부터 8월까지 21회기 미술치료를 청소년쉼터 상담실에서 실시하였다. 연구 참여자의 작품, 현장 관찰노트, 면담 녹취, 연구자 현장일지를 자료로 수집하여 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000/2007)의 내러티브 방법으로 탐구하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 발견한 쉼터 청소년의 내러티브는 <둥지 밖으로>, <회피>, <나를 발견함>, <상처가 보석이 되려면>, <자립, 그리고 나의 꿈>, <되찾은 자신감>의 6가지 주제와 18개의 경험 이야기였다. 쉼터 청소년의 미술치료 경험의 의미는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외면하고 싶었던 자기와 마주하게 되다. 둘째, 비로소 자기를 발견 하고 이해하게 되다. 셋째, 타자를 이해할 수 있는 힘이 생기다. 넷째, 미래를 그리며 용기를 내어 자립의 첫발 을 내디디게 되었다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the experiences of a shelter adolescent through art therapy and analyzed the meanings of her experiences. The participant was an 18-year-old girl staying at a shelter. The individual art therapy lasted from March, 2014 to August, 2014 and took place in shelter counselling room. She attended the therapy once a week for 21 sessions. The study participant’s works, on-site observation diary, recorded interviews as study materials. They were examined using Clandinin and Connelly's narrative method (2000, 2007). The narratives of the shelter youth uncovered through this process were 18 experience stories and six themes of “out of the nest”, “avoidance”, “finding myself”, “if scars are to be precious stones”, “selfreliance, and my dream”, and “regained self-confidence.” The meanings of the art therapy experiences of the shelter adolescent were as follows. First, the girl confronted herself with what she had been trying to avoid. Second, she discovered and understood herself. Third, others became understood. Fourth, the first step towards self-reliance was taken with courage.
