집단미술치료가 취학 전 아동의 사회적 기술과 또래수용도에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 집단미술치료가 취학 전 아동의 사회적 기술과 또래수용도에 효과가 있는가를 알아보는 데 있다. 연구의 대상은 U시에 있는 C선교원과 C어린이집에 다니는 7세 아동 52명을 대상으로 사회적 기술검 사를 실시하여 사회적 기술 점수가 낮은 아동 20명을 선별하였다. 이 중 무작위로 실험집단 10명, 통제집단 10 명을 배치하였고, 중재역할을 위해 사회적 기술 점수가 높은 아동 8명씩 집단에 배치하여 최종 실험집단에 18 명 통제집단에 18명으로 구성하였다. 프로그램 실시는 2013년 1월 7일부터 2월 18일까지 주 2회, 60분씩 총 12 회기 진행되었다. 검사도구는 사회적 기술검사와 또래평정척도를 사용하였으며, 프로그램 실시 전?후에 사전? 사후 검사를 실시하였고, 프로그램 종료 4주 후에 추후검사를 실시하여 평균과 표준편차를 비교분석하였다. 연 구결과는 다음과 같다. 집단미술치료가 취학 전 아동의 사회적 기술에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 또래수용도에는 유의한 효 과가 나타나지 않았다. 집단미술치료의 단계에 따른 취학 전 아동의 사회적 기술과 또래수용의 변화를 관찰한 결과 회기가 진행될수록 집단원 간의 상황에 적합한 언어적 표현과 자신의 의견을 정확히 전달하는 행동이 증 가하였고, 집단 활동 시 망설임이나 주저함이 줄어들어 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해 집단미술치료가 취학 전 아동의 사회적 기술에는 효과가 있다는 결론을 얻을 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the effects of group art therapy on the social skills and peer acceptance of pre-school age children. For this study 52, 7 year old children attending a Christian mission and a nursery in an urban setting were administered a social skills scale. 20 children whose scores on the scale were low were chosen to be the participants for this study. 10 of the participants were assigned to a control group and the remaining 10 to an experimental group randomly. Each group had 8 additional children. They had high scores on the social scale and were expected to play the role of an mediator in the assigned group. 18 children were designated as an experimental group and 18 as a control group. The group art therapy program was offered to the experimental group from January 7 to February 18, 2013, twice a week. The therapy program consisted of 12 sessions and each session was one hour long. The instruments for this study included a social skills scale and peer acceptance scale. A pretest and posttest were given before and after the group art therapy program. A follow-up evaluation was conducted 4 months after the program. Means and standard deviations were produced and compared. The data were analyzed using Repeated measures analysis of variance, simple main effects, and Duncan's multiple range test. The findings are as follows. Group art therapy had positive effects on the social skills of the participants. But, group art therapy did not have effects on the peer acceptance of the participants. And then, as the therapy program moved through the phases such as building rapport, the participants showed more appropriate verbal expressions and became accurate when expressing their opinions. Also they showed less hesitations. These findings show that group art therapy had positive effects on the social skills of pre-school age children.
