신화와 종교적 관점에서의 집-나무-사람 상징에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 인간의 무의식에 가장 쉽게 접근할 수 있다는 이유로 미술치료에서 흔히 사용되는 집-나무-사람 그림에 관하여 신화적, 종교적 관점으로 그 의미를 조망해보고자 하였다. 따라서 집-나무-사람이 나타내는 상징성을 Jung과 Eliade의 학문적 연구를 바탕으로 살펴봄으로써, 그 근원적 배경과 다양한 의미에 의해 인간존재의 전체성을 이해하고, 나아가 하나의 이미지를 한 가지 관계로 맺어줌으로써 발생하는 왜곡된 해석을 지양하려는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이러한 입장에서의 연구를 통해, 집-나무-사람그림을 해석하는데 있어서 신화와 원시신앙에서 비롯된 더 많은 상징자료와 폭넓은 인간이해의 관념들을 만날 수 있었다. 차후의 지속적인 연구에 힘입어 보다 풍성한 의미 분석과 자료들이 주어진다면, 존재내면의 원형적 상에 대한 더 나은 이해와 통찰로 개인의 자기성장을 도울 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study sheds lights from a mythological and religious perspective on house-tree-person drawings commonly used in art therapy for the greatly easy access to human subconscious feelings the drawings give. This study sought to find the symbolic meanings of drawn houses, trees, and persons in the context of Jung’s and Eliade’s academic work in the field. The purpose of this study is to understand the totality of human beings in its search for the origins and various meanings of the symbols, and further toprevent the mistake of limiting one image to only one relationship, which leads to distortions in the interpretation. The research in this study found many symbols from myths and primitive religions and perceptions related to understanding humans, all of which could be used in interpreting the drawings of houses, trees, and persons. If subsequent studies of this kind can continue providing more meaningful analyses and sources, it will lead to a better understanding of the archetype of inner beings, which will be beneficial to individual’s personal growth.
