집단미술치료가 아동의 공감능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 아동을 대상으로 미술치료를 실시하여 공감능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 A지역 B초등학교 5학년과 6학년 학생으로 교사용 아동 평가 척도를 통해 적응적 아동(40점 이하)을 선정하고 이들을 대상으로 공감검사를 실시하여 실험집단 14명과 통제집단 14명을 배치하였다. 2010년 10월부터 11월까지 실험집단을 대상으로 미술치료를 10회기 실시하였으며 사전․사후 검사로 공감능력 검사를 사용하였으며 집단의 동질성 여부를 파악하기 위해 t-검증을 실시, 프로그램의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 SPSS를 사용하여 공변량분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 공감능력은 미술치료를 실시한 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 하위영역인 정서적 공명과 관점수용은 유의미한 차이가 없었으나 공감적 관심은 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 미술치료에서 미술작업, 작품, 치료자와 집단원을 통해 공감을 경험함으로써 효과가 나타난 것으로 본다. 본 연구에서 집단미술치료는 아동의 공감능력 향상에 효과가 있는것으로 나타났으나 적응적 아동뿐만 아니라 부적응 아동을 대상으로 한 미술치료를 통해 지속적인 연구가 필요하다고 본다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of group art therapy on the empathy of children. The study subjects were 5th graders & 6th graders at B elementary school in A province, who got under 40 points at T-CRS(Teacher-Child Rating Scale). They were tested by empathy scale and divided into the experimental group and the control group that had 14 children. This program laseted from October, 2010 to November, twice a week for 10 sessions at B elementary school for the experimental group. But the control group didn't take part in any program. Research tool was empathy scale for pre and post test of the program. To investigate the equivalence of the experimental group and control, t-test was carried out, and ANCOVA was utilized to make statistical analysis of the effectiveness of art therapy program. The result of the study was as follows; The experimental group that participated in art therapy program showed more significant improvement in empathy than the control group. There was little change on the emotional empathy score and the acceptance of viewpoint score and there ws the positive change on the empathetic interest score. The group art therapy had lots of benefits that group member could experience empathy through art work, products, therapists and members. Group art therapy has positive effectiveness on empathy of children, but the following studies through group art therapy are asked to children who has maladjustment behaviors.
