국문 초록

지금까지 장년리유적의 신석기시대문화층은 신석기시대 후기로 인식되고 있었으나, 토기 및 석기구성에서 나타나는 특징으로 미뤄볼 때 신석기시대 전기까지 소급될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그리고 구연부한정 단사선문토기가 주류를 이루고 있는 것과 전형적인 영선동식토기의 부재 등의 특징을 주변유적 및 현재 편년과의 비교를 통해 볼 때 전기의 말엽으로 추정된다. 장년리유적의 신석기시대 문화층은 지금까지 신석기시대 후기로 인식되어 이른 시기의 자료가부족한 호남지역의 신석기시대 문화상을 이해하는데 부족한 감이 없지 않았다. 그러나 장년리유적의 신석기시대문화층의 시간적인 위치가 전기까지 소급될 수 있어, 이른 시기의 자료가 부족한 호남지역의 신석기시대 자료의 한계를 메워주는 역할을 할 것이다. 또한 남부지역의 신석기시대 전기 말엽의 투기 및 석기의 구성과 그들의 생계방식을 이해하는데 중요한 자료를 제공할 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

The cultural layer of the Neolithic era has so far been recognized that it belongs to the latter period of the Neolithic era. However, in view of features found in the earthen ware and the composition of stone implements its origin can be traced back to the early period of the Neolithic era. With Kuyonbuhanjeong Dansaseonmuntokee (which is an earthen vessel with decorations of short oblique lines which are limited to its mouth area) being the cultural mainstream and with the absence of typical Youngseondong type earthen ware, it is presumed that the date can be traced back to the end of the early period; such a presumption becomes more realistic when comparing the characteristics such as Kuyonbuhanjeong Dansaseonmuntokee and the absence of Youngseondong type earthen ware with the remains of the adjacent areas and the current chronicle. The cultural layer of the Jangyon-ri remains has hitherto believed to be the one developed in the latter period of the Neolithic era, and was therefore deemed unsuitable for understanding the cultural development of the Neolithic era in Honam region lacking the data of the earlier times. However, since the date of the Jangyon-ri remains cultural layer can be traced back to the earlier period, it will possibly make up the shortage of data available for the Neolithic era in Honam region. It will also provide the important data giving an enlightening insight into the composition of earthen ware and stone implements at the end of the Neolithic era s early period and their lifestyle in southern regions.
