장편 영화 ‘빈집’에서 나타나는 음향의 공간 성격과 파레르곤적 해석

국문 초록

본 논문에서 영화 ‘빈집’의 음향과 음악이 영화의 세계에 공간적으로 관여하는 성격을 분석과 해석적 관점으로 논하였다. 이 영화에서 내부와 외부로 나누어지는 공간은 극중 빈집 안의 공간과 바깥의 공간, 여주인공인 선화의 공간과 남주인공인 태석의 공간, 영화 세계의 내부적 공간과 외부적 공간 등으로 구별된다. ‘빈집’의 주제음악, 시각적으로 부재된 극중 태석의 존재를 나타내는 음향효과 등과 같은 외재적 음향은 영화적 현실 세계의 외부에 위치함에도 불구하고 영화의 내부에 개입하어 내부와 외부적 존재를 서로 소통하게 함으로서, 이러한 외재적 음향 요소들이 결국 영화의 두 주인공인 선화와 태석을 소통하게끔 하는 의미를 지닌다. 이 영화의 내재적 음악인 ‘Gafsa 는 영화의 두 주인공을 영화의 현실적 세계로부터 환상과 초현실적인 세계로 나아가게 함으로서, 영화적 세계 내부의 두 주인공을 영화 외부로 나아갈 수 있도록 한다. 이와 같이 ’빈집‘의 외재적 음향은 영화의 에르곤적 세계를 채워주는 파레르곤적 존재로서의 역할을 하고, 내재적 음악은 영화의 에르곤이지만 파레르곤으로 향하는 성격을 가지면서 영화적 공간의 경계를 넘나드는 존재로서 그 성격을 형성한다.

영문 초록

In this paper, the spatial characteristics of sound are discussed analytically and interpretably for the filmic world in the feature film 3-Iron . The spaces in the film are divided with internal space and external space, and these are presented as the inside spaces and outside spaces of houses, Sun-Hwa s space and Tae-Suk s space(Two main characters) in the film, and spaces inside and outside of the film itself. Non-diegetic sounds which are such as the theme music of the film and the sound effects as invisible Tae-suk in the film intervene in diegesis in film, although the non-diegetic sounds are located on outside of the film s diegesis. And also the non-diegetic sounds help Sun-Hwa and Tae-Suk to communicate between them in the film. The music Gafsa as a diegetic music causes Sun-Hwa and Tae-Suk to turn out to the fantasy or surrealistic world and the music Gafsa helps the main characters, Sun-Hwa and Tae-Suk to go to non-diegetic world of the film. Thus, the non-diegetic sounds of the film 3-Iron have the role of parergon to supplement with ergon of the film and the diegetic music of the film is non only a part of ergon of the film, but also the diegetic music aspires to parergon for crossing the spatial boundary of the film.
