국문 초록

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 개신교 목회자의 성 비위 문제와 그 원인을 분석하고, 이를 예방하는 방안으로 정서지능의 역할을 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 권력남용, 교회의 법적·행정적 견제 부족, 가부장적 사회문화, 윤리·영성·정서적 요인 등을 고려하여 성 비위와 정서적 요인의 관계를 심층적으로 분석하고, 기독교 교육에서 정서지능을 함양할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 연구 내용 및 방법 : 이 연구는 문헌 연구를 중심으로 진행되며, 목회자의 성 비위 원인을 다양한 측면에서 분석한다. 먼저, 성 비위에 대한 선행연구와 보고된 통계를 바탕으로 권력남용과 권위주의적 구조, 교회의 법적·행정적 견제 장치 부족, 가부장제 및 남성 중심의 사회문화적 영향, 그리고 목회자의 윤리·영성·정서적 심리 요인을 검토한다. 이후, 정서지능의 개념과 도덕적 판단 및 자기조절 능력과의 관계를 분석하고, 정서지능 발달이 목회자의 성 비위 예방에 미치는 영향을 탐구한다. 마지막으로, 목회자의 정서지능 함양을 위한 교육적 접근과 교회 공동체 내에서 정서지능을 발전시킬 수 있는 교육과정 설계 및 적용 방안을 제시한다. 결론 및 제언 : 본 연구는 목회자의 성 비위를 단순한 개인적 일탈로 보기보다, 교회 구조와 사회문화적 요인, 그리고 목회자의 정서적 요소까지 포함하여 다각도로 분석한다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 목회자의 정서지능 개발이 성 비위 예방에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있음을 제시하며, 이를 실천할 수 있는 기독교 교육의 방향성을 모색한다. 나아가, 신앙의 본질과 가치를 회복하고, 개인의 존엄성과 공동체성을 강화하는 성숙한 교회로 나아가는 방안을 제언하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Purpose of the Study : This study aims to analyze the issue of sexual misconduct among Protestant pastors and its underlying causes, and to explore the role of emotional intelligence as a preventive measure. In particular, the study seeks to examine the relationship between sexual misconduct and emotional factors by considering issues such as abuse of power, lack of legal and administrative oversight within the church, patriarchal socio-cultural influences, and ethical, spiritual, and emotional factors. The ultimate goal is to propose educational strategies within Christian education that can foster emotional intelligence. Contents and Method : This study primarily employs a literature review to analyze the causes of pastoral sexual misconduct from multiple perspectives. First, it reviews previous research and statistical reports on sexual misconduct, focusing on issues such as abuse of authority and hierarchical church structures, the absence of legal and administrative accountability systems, patriarchal and male-centered cultural influences, as well as ethical, spiritual, and emotional/psychological factors related to pastors. The study then analyzes the concept of emotional intelligence, its connection to moral judgment and self-regulation, and investigates how the development of emotional intelligence can contribute to preventing sexual misconduct among pastors. Finally, the study proposes educational approaches for enhancing pastors' emotional intelligence and presents strategies for designing and implementing curricula within the church community that support emotional intelligence development. Conclusion : This study does not view pastoral sexual misconduct merely as an individual moral failure but analyzes it from multiple dimensions, including church structure, socio-cultural factors, and emotional aspects of pastors. Based on the findings, the study suggests that developing pastors’ emotional intelligence can make a tangible contribution to preventing sexual misconduct. It also proposes a direction for Christian education that supports this goal. Furthermore, it suggests pathways for restoring the essence and values of faith, affirming human dignity, and strengthening the communal nature of the church, thereby guiding the church toward greater maturity.
